Hi FB fandom, I was planning on starting my FB journey soon and was wondering what this is? As I understand, the final season was already animated. Will this be canonically before the final? When I watch anime, I enjoy watching just one show at a time and totally immersing myself in the story, and with the great things I've heard about FB, I'd love to watch in the best order possible if this is adapting skipped content.

It is about the relationship between Tooru's mom and dad. It is a Side Story of Second Season. But you can watch it anyway time... There is no need to watch it in order.

A spin-off story of Tohru's parents in which the studio didn't adapt that part in the manga. It's a good thing because of more Furuba content.

Chronologically...the events of the ova will take place before season 1. In the manga this flashback happens between the events of season 2 and 3.
So ideally this ova should be seen after season 2 and before season 3.

while the timeline is set before the first season, it is meant to be watched after the final season

This is basically a special about an important side character's past that you can watch after the series
