Directed by Patrick Imbert. On french cinemas in september.
Don't think that it will be added to MyAnimeList since it's not exactly anime but I wanted to post it here for the record. Also I link the trailers.

Damn that's cool to see Taniguchi getting some sort of adapation

loads of Taguchi works seem to be in French first and then English, I guess they really like him over there lol

The artwork (mainly the backgrounds) look great, I'd consider seeing this but I want to read the manga first

I don't like how the characters look, but the backgrounds are sick.

Anime movies are almost never shown in my country, but I might get lucky with this.

I’m French. I saw « Le sommet des dieux » today, and i was very surprise : what a beautiful work ! Very cool art design (the landscapes with a lot of white colour in different textures…) and very cool sound design.
This movie can have his own page on MAL ! :)

The manga's finale left me with my heart in my throat. This movie is just as emotionally demanding. It's a shame that Imbert and team couldn't turn this into a full series. Obviously the film left out a lot of key character development and the build-up of relationships. Habu himself felt like a weaker character in this film compared to his manga counterpart. That said, this film manages to be absolutely stunning and faithful where it counts. My arms and legs were aching as I watched Fukamachi's journey to push himself beyond his limits. With a powerful score by Amine Bouhafa, drifting over the majestic scenery. Would recommend!

Don't see why this can't be listed here, we had radiant a few years back which was based on a french "manga". Its simply the other way around in this case. Does it have to be made in japan?

Yes.
More precisely , the majority of the producers and other important roles have to be held by Japanese people.

Radiant is a French Manga , but the Anime adaptation is done at 100% by Japan.
It simply adapt a foreign material , just like how Romeo x Juliet adapted the tragedy of Shakespeare.

Meanwhile , Le sommet des dieux is entirely done by French staffs.

@Alexioos95 i get that. But still, it should cite the adaptation somewhere. I doubt it'll get another one

You can edit the Background section with the Edit button on the entry page.
This type of things is often mentionned there , so it should be accepted.
