| So it been a couple days since I watched it but I remember they said that whenever someone dies there's a wedding and they believe the souls of the dead reincarnate into the offspring of the new bride and groom. So when they saw the funeral procession I think he remarked about how there were six coffins. We then have the ghost bride come out, abduct the man and take him to a hotel where she has sex with him and then when she comes out of the bathroom she's holding six children. So it sounds like when people die in this village, they abduct single men with talent and use spirits to breed more children that can house the dead's soul. This is probably what happened to the guy that was working in the town before the main character in this episode. Remember he apparently "quit" his job after working in that town. It seems like a play on myths about yuki onna, lamias, harpies abducting unsuspecting men to reproduce and keep the population stable. In the show the factory owner talked about how the population never increased or decreased. Which can't normally be possible cause you are always introducing new women or men into the village when you hold a wedding on top of whatever kids are born. So what they probably have is a ritual called "the wedding" in where a yokai guardian (the bride) comes and abduct men to breed how many new bodies they need and then they kill the men. Again, echoing the senpai that he was replacing. Seems like a win win for everyone, the villagers get immortality with new bodies, the bride gets new husbands soul and the guy gets to die how every man wishes they could die....while banging! |
