| The whole production was a complete mess. Since Episode what? 9? The whole show has gone downhill. To have production issues in the last episode just comes to show even more that the staff was severely rushed and under a lot of pressure and without enough budget to get by. The company took a great LN series and shit all over it. Ah, money talks at the end of the day even if their people did not have enough time or funds to deliver something decent. Now the other problem is the delayed. Is just like WEP. It comes down to available slots within the upcoming season when the schedule has been created already so most likely last episode will be delayed until September when they have an opening. |

| Glad I saw this as this was my only show to watch for tomorrow. Honestly I'd rather have it out of the way and done with than wait. I'm pretty much done with this series after this episode comes out anyway, as I intended to say tomorrow in the episode thread. Been awhile since a series disappointed me to this extent. But I suppose this is good news for fans who hope it'll end up being better thanks to the delay. For now guess I'll just put it on hold. |
| Since the final episode will probably include last Kumoko evolution they surely want to achieve the best quality, i'm a bit sad about this but after the last awfull animation side episodes, can be maybe a good choice. Hope we do not need to wait months but maybe just a week or two. |
| Considering the 2D department has been struggling for weeks now this doesn't surprise me. It's a shame, I think the CGI has been pretty consistent since the first episode, but the 2D animation, mostly the human parts, have been clunky and awkward, even falling apart in episode 14. |
| This show has been one production nightmare after another. The multiple delays proving that this is becoming heavy baggage for them. My worry is the possibility of a season 2 because I doubt they would want to go through this production hell again. Then again, Kadokawa would probably just hand it off to another studio if they wanted to. Still, I hope this finale sticks the landing because I've been enjoying the narrative so far. |

| Fucking hell... I was so hyped for it today at work. I don't care about animation anymore, it was shit for most of series anyway and they should know it too. If they delay single episode like that something serious had to happen. |

| The 3D was horrible but that's to be expected when you use freaking Millepensee of all studio's to do them. I watched this for Kumoko only anyways so the human side was not interesting for me to begin with but goddamn that was horrible |

| An (as of yet) indefinite delay of the last episode of the season is quite unusual and rather worrisome. Their "production issues" must be quite severe. Just about the entire animation of the battle sequences of the last few episodes (and every shorter battle sequence shown previously) was super crappy CGI, so I wonder what could be worse than that.. Bear in mind that this anime was produced by Millepensee and directed by Shin Itagaki, i.e. the ones who did the dreadful Berserk 2016 and its (a bit less dreadful) second season. Both studio and director have repeatedly proven that they have no clue how to do proper CGI and yet they keep doing it.. If you mean consistent in its crappiness I fully agree. It doesn't look to me that the 2D sections are poor (they are not great but the animators do not appear to "struggle" with them either). The problem is clearly with the "polished-Berserk-2016-like" CGI sections. edit: By the way, I looked it up a bit more and it appears that the CGI sections were outsourced to studios exsa and Engi (mostly the former). exsa is a studio that have only done CGI work on a few anime ( https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/company.php?id=15203 ) and Engi is a studio with mostly outsourcing / 2nd key animation / finishing etc record on a lot of anime ( https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/company.php?id=17950 ), bizarrely even both seasons of Beastars, despite having only been founded in 2018. Something went clearly wrong with Kumoko though.. |

| I honestly don't mind the animation that much but the 3D was pretty bad the past couple of episodes, but not enough of a deterrent to stop me from watching this show. |
