| Why is dementia not an option? Common OP give us all kinds of options to vote for. If I had to choose a type of anime that I won't watch, then the dementia genre would of course be my answer. That type of anime....IDK, just really puts my off & annoys me, giving me a headache most of the times out of sheer tediousness + their convoluted nature. But honestly I probably still would watch some acclaimed dementia titles I haven't yet cuz I just.....seem to like watching + adding acclaimed titles to my list, I just feel like there is some value in gaining the experience of watching them as it helps us gain a better understanding of the medium in general. |

| As a straight male, yaoi is definitely one I refuse to ever watch and has no appeal to me or even shounen Ai. Basically anything related to boy love. I'll even watch shoujo sometimes which is typically meant for teenage girls, since it's just romance most of the time and not much action, but even this genre I sometimes find boring too and can be unappealing to me when there's reverse harem of one girl and many guys around her. |

Especially Hajime no ippo since it's also fighting (boxing) so if you like shounen or any anime with fight scenes basically, you'll like a boxing anime except there's rules and a controlled space. |

| Ecchi as it has very little to no redeeming quality. Only half decent ecchi relies on strong humour to sell it so its mostly humour yhat makes it work and not the ecchi itself. |

| I find most Yaoi and Yuri to be fairly toxic - but I cannot get into sports. Never watched one, and never had an interest. The closest thing I'd probably watch is Yuri on Ice (ironic, I know), but that's as far as it gets. |

| Why is there two porn genre in the list... I'm petty but they aren't even called by their real title (Shonen-ai (BL) and shoujo-ai) they are subgenres of romance anyway. For my choice, it's harem and ecchi. I don't mind the rest even if i can't get into sports anime. |

Even those who go outdoors might like a good old harem and it could be a fantasy of most guys and some girls for reverse harem, but it's not as easy to get in the real world because society doesn't allow it and accepts it as a bad thing to sleep/date many women at once. But a person can have their fantasy through works of fiction. So just as women have their thousands of romance books with such passionate desires and unreal romantic lines and gestures that real men don't do, at least not forever, then it's perfectly fine for men to have their own unrealistic fantasies and scenarios too through works of fictions which is why ecchi and harem exist. Also with porn/hentai people don't really stick around for the story once they are done with what they came to it for. With ecchi people who watch it will usually finish the entire anime. |

XD For real though I’ll try just about any genre; personally it’s more about content than genre, if something’s over-the-top gory and/or has explicit nudity I won’t watch it regardless of its genre. Not a big fan of horror, BUT I love The Promised Neverland. Not a big fan of sci-fi, BUT I love Darling in the Franxx. Not a big fan of sports, BUT I love Harukana Receive. Not a big fan of really long or “yelly” shounen, BUT I love Demon Slayer, MHA, and FMAB. I also won’t watch anything where a homosexual relationship is the main focus because I don’t get in to that. I don’t mind lesbian/gay characters that aren’t leads and contribute something to the story (like Ikuno from DITF or Midori from Tamako Market) or even a show that has a strong lesbian undercurrent (like NEW GAME! or Izetta: The Last Witch); as long as they’re not kissing or openly stating they’re homosexual I’m usually okay with it. It’s shows like Citrus that I try to avoid. That said, while lesbian is one thing, boys love I avoid at all costs unless it’s completely for comedic effect (like Kiss Him, Not Me). So Yuri on Ice is a 100% NO! XD My choice, apparently like many others, is yaoi. |
