They cover the exact same material as the 1997 series but with a more conclusive ending. Although I don’t think they’re personally as good as the 1997 anime.

Movies are like recaps of 97. They tell the same story but they skip a lot.

Movies trilogy covers the same manga arc that 97 adaptation does. The only difference is that the movies are far worse. Also, you should leave 97 adaptation on hold and read the manga from the beginning since 97 adaptation has way too many cuts, including important characters and it also ends on cliffhanger so you’ll end up looking into manga anyway and you’ll have to start from beginning since anime cuts important characters as i mentioned before.
i might even read the manga true, but ig ill watch the anime as a gateway to it just in case, thanks for recommending

They’re essentially a condensed version of the 1997 anime. However with better animation and art. Though the cg is a tad shaky at times. I’d higky recommend it event if you’ve seen the 1997 as I think it’s just as good. Also I has a better ending then the 1997 anime but I won’t go into that for obvious reasons.
thanks for the heads up

All three are on Netflix, and I think some of them are on Funimation. If you don’t have either of those you could always pirate them

Watch this after watching the 1997 anime (or after reading the Golden Age arc in the manga), as a lot of plot points are cut, but still can be appreciated for it's animation and great voice acting. Also if you're on the fence about wether or not to watch the dub, it is the same voices from the 1997 anime dub, and they do an even better job in the movies

Strongly disagree on this. The movies have ugly looking 3D/CGI animation, as well as inferior coloring and less faithfulness.
