Favorites Boosting Accounts: Ranking Recalculations

I’m a huge Black Clover fan and all i can say is - what the hell? Seriously, every BC character was botted THAT HEAVILY? The higher rated ones almost all lost 1k, Asta and Yami both lost like 3k.

Thank you for the recalculation, my confusion and concern is gone now. And now It's great to see how the characters is at the numbers they should be.

Thank you, even though it did drop a few of my favorites. It was badly needed. Let the chips fall where they may.

lmao ngl some of the characters like Emilia or Ichigo losing that many favorites is kind of sad in a hilarious way.

Someone was really salty that their fave girl wasn't the most popular one.

Thing is, it's not just the anime I enjoy. Nearly every other anime this season has been affected.

That's old news.Btw when this season finishes those who dropped the anime way earlier those scores don't count.

Even so, we have seen instances of scores dropping down a lot AFTER the anime finished. Not all dropped scores are ignored. Some may have went past the 1/5 threshold before dropping the anime, so, despite them having dropped the anime, their scores still count. That also means that those who haven't dropped the anime but still haven't watched at least 1/5 of the anime will not have the scores counted (includes high ratings).

Btw how to convert 1/5 into episode count for a 13 episode series?

In that case, it would be at least 3 episodes. 3 is the lowest integer that is greater than 13/5, which results in 2.6.

I noticed botting when 5-6 characters from Demon slayer (kimetsu no yaiba) popped of in 10k favorites in a single day.

Recalculate the scores (ratings) too... they manipulate scores too.

This is great, now do this with people (voice actors, singers etc)

People here celebrating their favs rising and mourning their favs dropping, and here I am with favs few to no people care about to actually bot lmao

This is getting ridiculous. MAL needs a verification system to make sure that no one has duplicate accounts and block bots from being created. When it gets this extreme then extreme measures need to be implemented. Old inactive accounts can be ignored but current and new accounts need verification.

This should be done once every year! So glad my top 10 wasn't affected much, Shonobu and Senjougahara both have 5% dupe favs so I guess monogatari fans are the real business 👏

Good to see this fixed at last. Finally the fav character stats actually mean something again. Kind of funny that it had reached an extent that Gasai Yuno, the first character to get >1000 fake accounts (back before the ability to see favouriting users for a char was removed), but later stopped gaining these, actually went up in the rankings as a result of this.

A part of me is curious as to which is the character with the most favourites who was completely unaffected by this (or affected to a degree that would round to 0%)

It's definitely bots. There are some others minor and random characters who are in the same situation, like Gerudo from Tensei Slime series, mostly Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba side characters, Mami Nanami from Rent-A-Girlfriend and Ichigo from Darling in the Franxx. Shin Yasuda probably has 10 or less real favorites, no more than that. As a result, Shin has no real character development and uninteresting backdrop.

I find it hard to believe that people have the time and effort to do this kind of sh!t lol

It fixed. Sabito (the guy only shown for a episode) had over 12k and after the purge he has 500 now. Also Tanjiro was ahead of Joseph Joestar, Roy Mustang etc. but now they both are way ahead of Tanjiro lol.

Some characters are still botted, 10 characters from Wataten got botten by 450 favourites each over night quite a while back. You removed the ones from the main cast and Koyori Tanemura but 5 supporting characters still have their +450 favourites boost

Why does it seem like the character favourite numbers never seem to be going up?? Even with growth in this websites popularity. You'd think numbers would be increasing, quite weird.. I wonder how there bot removal system works.

No one's talking about how Gerudo (from Slime Isekai) went from having over 12000 favourites to a meagre 200. That guy had around 99% bots.

I think Gabi from AoT also falls in this category too, she fell from over 14k favs to 1236 favs right away after the recalculation, but within a span of 1 and a 1/2 days she has once again risen to 1359 rapidly.

The bots seem to be quite persistent in what they are doing so I have some doubts regarding how long the effects of this whole recalculation will actually last lol. They need to be removed yet again right away otherwise they'd just keep boosting the member favourites just like they did before.
