Is their name Felix, Felis or Ferris?

I'm not sure if it's any different in the manga but in the subs of the anime I've noticed the different characters interchangeably call them by the names Felix and Felis and then I saw online that it can also be Ferris. Can someone please explain

Felix in the anime, and Ferris in the novels. I’m not sure about the manga though.

It’s actually Jeffrey Miller, the LN was just poorly translated, and the anime switched it up, but still didn’t use an accurate translation.

His birth name is Felix, but he goes by Ferris now.

Don't know if the light novels where poorly translated, but according to the light novel licensed by Yen Press, the official name is Felix Argyle. He calls himself Ferris, so that's what characters close to him, call him. So either Felix or Ferris is fine, but we will see his nickname most of the time (Ferris).

It's Felix, in Japanese it's フェリックス (Ferikkusu). The フェッリス (Ferisu) is a nickname

If you read the light novel about them it is pretty clear that they are are trans girl who had the deadname Felix but she chose a new name of Ferris-chan
The anime though removed all proof of her being trans though

Well to answer this question we might look a little at the names and at the location and time.
Re:zero takes place in an alternative universe but presuming the fact that it might take place in an old alternative japan (because subaru lived in japan) we could probably cut off some of the variants. Let's say that the re:zero universe takes place in the dark ages (bc of the magic stuff) then we can surely say it's after the roman empire. Felix is a latin name wich also means "happy", so that said it's highly improbable science europeans didn't reach japan in the dark ages so Felix is improbable.
The name Fellis comes from noreay so it's a little more probable science scandinavian people went to japan or at least have in common the sushi recipe although I can't provide solid data on that .
Adding all up, the most probable names would be Ferris or Fellis, Ferris being a name used in japan as I found out.
