Are the vampires actually that bad?

Okay hear me out, other then the virus the vampires unleashed are the vampires actually that bad? It’s not like they kill everyone and as from what I can see, they prefer to keep humans alive and protect them in exchange for some blood. Compared to other vampires from both western and eastern fiction vampires usually kill humans and suck out all there blood but the ones from seraph of the end don’t do that? Am I missing something or are the vampires being biasedly viewed as the villain?

The vampires didn’t unleash the virus. The bad guy is honestly up to what side the viewer is on. There is technically a big bad, but even the manga hasn’t made it clear what their intentions are yet.

The vampires arent good but they're not bad either. Other than the main squad and Mika who are good, thats how it seems to work for everyone. The manga gets hella confusing with it so that doesn't help lmao
