I don't know why but I just started crying in the second half of the epsidoe when the music played during the fight.I don't even know why though.Guess I was overwhelmed by the music and how freaking emotionally beautiful it is?I don't even know. But yeah,It's another stellar episode with phenomenal animation. This is looking up to be my anime of the seaoson so far aside from Tokyo Revengers.

I've got the same reaction. I mean, fu-chan going all out to help the little girl when so far for now he didn't show emotion made me cry. He showed simple and pure emotions, without any ulterior motive. That was beautiful.

I know right!?I was pretty into the fight and it's emotion but the score played and I just..🥲

It swung at her to knock her aside so it can feast on March. It's getting rid of obstacle.

Gotta love this show.

"Oniguma-sama. It really exists!"

Wow. Ouch. Way to go. You've been sacrificing girls to Oniguma for years.

"Is it an act of the gods?"

It actually IS! Though this in particular wasn't what the god intended. But he did send Fu.

And the "arigatou" at the end. Normally a shape-shifting creature coming to Earth would learn the instincts and memories of a form it takes. To make it easier for the writer. But this one has to learn the hard way. He lacks instincts.

You also expect that when a shapeshifter takes a new form, it is true to that form. But this one can speak in wolf form.

Both of these things show that it doesn't change to "wolf" or "human". It just changes the outside to resemble them. It remains the alien orb. And maybe this is more realistic than any similar story.

Great episode. March was really cute and she's grown on me a lot. This was my favourite episode so far since it didn't seem to just try to pull "omg look how sad this anime is uwu!"

It could've been the angle being odd but maybe it was not a stomp but rather it swinging its' paw out and then towards itself? Which would from the angle we were in look like a stomp but would then send her flying and not hurt March.
Although I do agree maybe that frame should've been from a different perspective

I loved the episode so so much tho oml

I seem to see problems with the pacing and the animation, especially in the action scenes. They often slow down or pause a scene to convey the feeling of the vignette it's taken from, which doesn't really work that well in anime, or they mess up with the physics for the same reason.
Adapting the manga and the anime 1:1 isn't always a good thing, they should both be structured to favour their respective medium.

Bruhhhhhhh!!!!!!
From the very first episode my mind was running that it’s all evolution thing and all... in simulation (lol) and yeah yeah this episode it feels as if watching the evolution of the most developed species (the orb) among all living beings. I really like how the story simply and slowly shows how it (orb) develops feelings and all that biology blah blah and finally bless the
A-ri-ga-to-ne
My eyes were wide open in amazement
I was thinking that after wolf and boy, the orb will become March but let’s see what’s next
If there was no one else within a 5-kilometer radius from Shimamura, and she was in a deep sleep and an all-knowing deity just happened to reassure me that she wasn’t going to wake up the next 24 hours, maybe I’d get bored after 23 hours and I might kiss her once to relieve some boredom...

I can't imagine how creepy it would be to have a wolf say "thank you" lol.

Fight was great! I didn't expect the orb to be able to change back so it was surprising to see him fight as the wolf, at one point I even thought he would transform into the bear xD.

Given the OP, one could expect to have more of March and Co. but even so, I didn't know how things were going to play out. She's still not completely safe but at least she's still alive for now, It will be interesting to see where things go now that Hayase took them with her.

I'm really liking this show, my AOTS so far I might say.

So the bear was who they were sacrificing to and MC got payback, nice.
Looks like they are heading into danger, the boss lady seems to see something to gain from the MC, next episode should be interesting.
Also I was not expected the MC's first words to be in wolf form, made it creepy and I love it.
“I just spent the last two years thinking that you guys knew more than me about life and I just found out that you guys are just as dumb as me.” “Duh-doy.” “Yeah, duh-doy.”

Ok so I know that it was probably clear from episode 1 that this was going to be an incredible show but this episode to me just really drove that home. Incredibly animated, Great soundtrack, and just a fascinating story in general. I can not wait to see how this story progresses.

Also when he finally spoke, Incredible

The animation is really excellent and I stick with my Made in Abyss vibes. Nature in this one is also creepy, scary and the gore is heavy but this was really good. The "arrigato" at the end was rather amusing. The composer is fresh and young but he is doing a very good job. Really love the score of this show.

I love this show so much. The premise might seem simple to some people but the storytelling is top notch. The way its set up makes even the most simplest of scenes so impactful that it sticks with me the entire day.

Like when you think about it, its just "girl about to get eaten by bear, boy turns into wolf and saves girl" but THAT EXECUTION! THE EXECUTION!

The wolf fighting the bear scene was hard to watch... I love how Fushi turned into the wolf and then said thank you in the end.. I was expecting him to learn to eat with his hands before learning to speak but ahhh I'm a mess of emotions for some reasons....

So the orb in human for was finally given a name Fushi by March. It seems like Fushi has learned to adapt by shape shifting into different forms. During the battle with the Great Bear it had no choice but to shift into wolf form to take it down. March was saved from being sacrificed and she gave it some fruit again. Only this time it uttered the first word that March taught it "Thank You" and that was the best part of the episode.

Am I the only one who prefers the wolf form instead of human form. Fushi as a wolf is adorable or maybe its because I like dogs.

He, wait... It spoke!

Action near the end was pretty great, loved that Fushi (finally he got a name, even though I have already used it already) turned into the wolf to take on that colossal of a bear. It was pretty brutal as the bear just tore Fushi to shreds multiple times, but the wolf itself was ferocious as well.

The Arigatou at the end was heartwarming. The orb is learning more and more.

So he is able to swap back to wolf form. I guess that makes sense as he learns how to control his "power" more. His regen ability is clearly a lot better as well. Was def not expecting a big action scene but it works. The bear was massive. Guess we can stretch reality a little for this show (besides the MC obviously).

What a masterpiece this already is, wow!
Can't believe it indeed happened, Fushi saved March, boy what an episode! I'm so glad she's alive. Fushi is definitely the MVP, on the other hand, Parona also did a great job.

Also, those guys' cult is so ridiculous, like they been delivering sacrifices as kids and never checked who ate them? They never knew that this giant OP bear existed? Lmao

The soundtrack that played after March fell asleep with the whole segment getting her to the altar was beautiful! I’m legit stunned by how good the OST has been so far. Great art and animation for the most part and the backgrounds are also pretty good. The thank you at the end was unexpected. The direction is also really solid, once again loved the altar segment with the dialogue cards. Although I would appreciate if the Studio took narrative decisions going forward to lessen the plot convenience of how certain scenes are presented. Fushi walking inside the fenced area and Parona being made out of vibranium would be my only 2 slights with this episode.

My brain watching the intro segment

Despite those things, the episode was very good, good rhythm and bun

There were some clever scenes and marvelous scenes.
  • match cut 1: What caught Perona's awareness was not the guards but the bear.
  • match cut 2: What caught March's awareness was not Perona but Hayase.
  • the transformation into a wolf from a human
  • the scene the wolf spoke human language
The speaking wolf scene was quite grotesque and astonishing.

Also there were some lame scenes; for example, the scene Hayase and Fushi passed each other at the gate and she didn't notice him at all at first.
