For me, this show is going into a dive at a dangerous speed.

There are so many incoinsistencies regarding the humongous bear deitity. Like for instance, how come no one in March's tribe has seen before such a massive bear that they refer as their god among those mountains or at the very least have seen all the tree destruction left after it's normal pathing or at the very least find foot prints pretty much anywhere. How did the bear manage to enter the Fort/Sanctuary before without destroying the main entrance due to his massive size. How did Hayase and the other guards could simply ignore Fushimi entering the sanctuary but as soon as he enters they are shocked. How did Parona survive such a fall from the cliffs even suggesting that branches slowed down her fall and likewise she was completely unharmed after such a massive bear maul while the other guard was completely torn in half in previous scenes by a similar attack. Why does Hayase has a change of heart on their customs when she showed no remorse going after March or her siblings to fulfill their traditions.

As you will see, these details become irrelevant in the future. And that is because the story progresses at a rapid pace. So, I would say that don't worry too much about these nitty-gritties and just keep on watching.

Details like these are important to me in order to know if I can watch a series in depth or just take it as popcorn entertainment and just ignore all the writing flaws.

This is ANIME.

There are a lot of amazing 10/10 shows out there, but this is high art and it really reminds me where my anime journey started and what is unique in this genre of entertainment.

It's only three episodes in, but in the hour+ that it's been running, it already gave me so much more than your average seasonal anime.

This is the one that's going to be remembered and called a classic after many years and it should be the anime of the year, but it probably won't get the title, because it isn't a typical shounen.

The thing is, this is a "typical shounen" series, shounen isn't a genre (aka battle manga) but a demographic, a very big one, and so far nothing in To Your Eternity is out of what you can call a typical shounen, is a great series with great production, but is shounen with many typical shounen elements, which ofc doesn't take any credit away.

Another meh episode. Episode 1 was great... but these, not so much. If I don't want to drop I've just gotta lower my expectations for the rest of the season to "regular slice of life anime", then maybe I can enjoy them again.

It's the exact opposite for me.
Episode one was good, but painfully predictable and not really emotionally engaging because of that. These last two episodes have been amazing imo. Really excited to see where this is going.
The bear is dead tho, right? So why didn't our "protagonist" copy its appearance as well? Would be a great form to have :D

Fair enough dude. But just saying as a manga reader that you maybe more disappointed in future episodes as you won't get that much depth.

A very exciting episode. Fushi has now managed to heal almost instantly and also learned to protect, while speaking their first words as well! Not quite a "small evolution" after all. When Hayase "spared" the life of the two girls I fully expected she had ulterior motives and as the next episode preview showed that was exactly the case (though if they had chosen death and she moved to kill them Fushi would have probably attacked her to protect his food source, errr I mean March).. "Replicate Fushi's immortality"? Yeah, good luck with that.. Ambition will probably be Hayase's undoing.

When she asked her hecnhmen to take the 4 - 5 ton bear along with them I half-expected them to ask her "How?!?!" but this anime is not a comedy :p It appears that the Yanome guys are the major force of the "Ninannah region" and, quite predictably, they do not take small girls from their own people for sacrifice but from weaker people of another tribe.
The party that took March also did not believe that the huge-ass bear actually existed, apparently they just did it because they were ordered from the higher ups; perhaps it is a "custom" for enforcing fear and control on the weaker tribes (as religious customs have often been used throughout history..).

Hayase threatening March in the previous episode of taking her baby sister if she fled showed that she is a despicable person, and this episode showed that she truly lacks a moral compass. I think the creators want us to hate her more so what when/if she dies on-sceen we will enjoy it to the full :)

Ahh, so it was March who named it Fushi.

Those fight scenes were really amazing.

I'm glad March is alright. Tho I wonder why they decided to take March and the others with them to their town. Hayase most probably wants to use Fushi in some way...

What was that monstrous humongous bear looking thing..? At first I thought it was Fushi who took the form of humongous Joaan to save them but I was utterly wrong...

That “Arigatou” from Joaan was really heartwarming yet creepy...

I think its safe to say this has the OST of the Year. The music carries the tension and emotion throughout its entire run, and it already manages to give much more emotions than most overrated shounen out there. I'm really looking foward to keep watching this, and I'm pretty sure its already on my contender for AOTY.

This episode hits me so hard, particularly that fight scene where Fumi confronted the bear. That scene where he said thank you to March in dog form is the cherry on top.

I watched the first three episodes in one go, and they're phenomenal. This is the strongest start I've seen from an anime in a long, long time, and it reminded me of why I first fell in love with this medium in the first place. There's a real atmosphere here, and it's not afraid to take the time to breath to suck in the viewer and make its scenes hit harder. It reminds me of Wolf's Rain a bit, actually? And I've yet to watch Mushishi, but it's the same vibe I've gotten from clips of that show too.

I've not a clue where this story is leading, but my impression is that it's going to explore what it means to grow, experience new things, and exist as a part of this world. Ready for some emotions.

She wasn't eaten. Lol
You probably felt that way because you anticipated March to die, and the anime alluded to that too. But no, it subverted expectations.

A lot of things specially setting backstory in To Your Eternity's earlier arcs are the "think about it yourself type", and not spoon feed explanatory. About Hayase's sudden change of heart, the following episodes will elaborate on them so chill. The people of Ninanna know of the Oniguma's existence by word of mouth probably their ancestors saw it first hand(the bear's predecesors) that's why they are keen to follow the rules so as the other villages oberseen by the Yanomes. Further explanation to these details are to be discussed on the next episodes so again chill. Details like how the Yanome came into power and how they use local traditions for their own objectives.

In earlier arcs it plays a bit of plot armor to subvert death expectations as it is finding how to properly manage character death so that it won't feel repeatetive and empty. It will later found a stable grounds on that imo so I hope you will do to.

And about the bear again it might be spoilers so I'll just give you a clue.
It's a raging heavily injured bear. Think about how it got those and think about what happens if it comes to a village.

Most of your questions would be answered if I'm not wrong, so just wait for it.
An advice wait till an arc finish till you ask these questions cause probably most of them will already be in the episodes itself.

They are a bunch of hypocrites. If they believed it as a legend why bother sending them to sacrifice?
I just wish the studio gives attention to other details instead of only Fushi.Feels like they are using their full budget only for the 1st episode and for Fushi's transformation and this episode is slowly giving me the feels I had when I watched episode 1.

Goddamn. Nowadays every anime is the same. The MC meets up with a annoying brat ang becomes friends with it. She completely changed his name. Hope his name stays Joaan. I really liked the first episode. I just dont know why most of the anime follow the same concept. Some of the people here act like they cried when the brat was about to die. But you can tell thats a big fat lie easily. Hope the MC doesnt get too attached with that brat.

I don't care about if it's original or full of cliches. It is one of the most satisfying stories I have ever watched or read. I don't really think its full of cliches though. Yes the Idea of game stats and Dungeons are really overused but Solo Leveling's story makes these ideas really good and it is better than all the anime or manga or manhwa that used these ideas. Furthermore I have never been disappointed in this manhwa even though I get bored really easy. I know that it is not for all though. If a manhwa uses cliched ideas and still is better thann the rest then its not cliched at all.

If there is one thing you can point out it is how Jin-Woo Oppa's personality changed . His character at the beginning and his character at the latest chapters make it hard to believe they were both the same person. But I think its normal to become like that if you have Power. Though it was really fun to see Jin-Woo Oppa become stronger.

this murder chick is hot. too bad she's a bitch

HILARIOUS when the bear chomped down on his head. seriously, i was laughing. and even more shockingly funny when it said "thank you for the food" while in wolf form

glad the girl is going to live. i thought maybe the black stuff was a toxin that killed her

the whole scene where the "thing" walked into that fort, right past murder chick, and the gate went up was weird though. felt weird af. really odd directing in that scene

people who liked the first episode but don't like the last 2 with the girl...wtf? how is that even possible? the first episode made me consider not watching anymore of this show it was that lame

I was glued to my seat and I was trying to accept that perhaps March would die since this show basically killed off what was supposed to be the MC, the original Fushi or white-haired boy and before that Joann the wolfie. I was going to fucking cry if they showed her body all mangled up and everything. I'm glad she's okay for now but I'm keeping myself prepared because I don't trust this show, I have a feeling they're going to tear out my fucking heart at any moment.

I was wondering though, they said that Oniguma was just a legend but why did they continue to sacrifice people? If there are people who consider it to be a legend, why follow such an outdated tradition? Also since Fushi killed that bear, which I'm assuming he did, can be transform into it now?

That's some Animal Planet type of shit right there, the brutality of wild beast fighting it out purely to survive. Well, the term 'animals' is used loosely here seeing as the revered oniguma is a giant ass bear and the wolf being a sphere capable of learning and transforming whilst having immortality and near-instantaneous regenerative capabilities.

With how brutal things get, I can't help but grin as I imagine Hayase being slaughtered, or at least I hope to. The bitch need to know how to value a person's life.
