The fight looked painful.

You should never eat Yanome food. Like ever!

Fushi is too cute!! I wanna see his anime version wearing a school uniform. lol

I feel so bad for the bear. I want him to be healed already!

Ever since I'd read the 'arigatou' scene in the manga, I'd been wondering how an anime would interpret it. Even though years have passed, I am still glad I got the answer.

After last episode, I just couldn't take it and read up the manga till the latest update. Even though I know what's coming now yet I could not hold back the tears. The music and the heartfelt voicing makes it so much emotional.
When someone asks me why I like anime, I'd say Just Because.

Awesome episode

God damn that fight between Fushi and the bear was badass. Transforming like that. Fumetsu no Anata definitely looks like it'll make for a very interesting series, that has me extremely invested right now

What a fight. The animation in some of the scenes reminds me of the 2000s, which makes it even more interesting to watch.

I love how they detail how Fushi learned where the Oniguma's weakness is(bear has very sensitive nose so a blow there is a critical hit). Though anime onlies won't know how it did it without context, its the shivering thing and I won't say why Fushi is doing that.

Also quick note, Fushi's first word is See (Hora).

That was some epic shit. A great fight scene, and now it can revert back to its previous stages of shapeshifting. It and March's relationship is wholesome and so is the arigatou he says in end.

The best part of the show is the narrator or the one who cast It to Earth. The way he does his part in sync with the tone of the story and the tone of the protagonist is so good I love it..

That bear was a fearsome opponent, but at least it wasn't as terrifying as a CGI one. I rather would've taken March's death lol. Fortunately none of that happened. Hayase seems like a decent person after all. A bit bland as character, tho. Hope we get to learn more about her in future.

Another entertaining episode. The narration sounds nice. What's a bit weird are the long breaks between the sentences. Other than that, the story has a pleasant flow. Not just pacingwise, I also like the shifts from lightheartedness to a bit of action, emotional moments etc. Makes it easy to stay engaged and I can't wait to see more of the journey.

Hayase huh, okay...

There are a lot of details in the fight here that you will notice more on a rewatch after the season has ended. And yeah I think some manga readers haven't pick up on it though. But gladly I did

Ok, you read the manga and you get all the pussy, we get it

The only thing I remember from the fight was her suddenly starting to sweat, but I honestly don't want any answer at all. I prefer to watch the show 100% blind.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

Here come the manga readers. ACKSHUALLY in the MANGA....

Always eager to take everyone else out of the mood by giving hints and outright breaking the rule against spoilers.

"You'll see, it gets better!"
"There'll be more sadness than this."
"Sadly, the PACING won't pick up."
"The CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT will take an unexpected turn."
"At this rate they'll only have time for the second arc, not the third."

Examples of the skirting of the no-spoilers rule. They just have to show that they READ THE MANGA, brag about it. As if it's something to brag about, that you consume the same story twice.

Which reduces the enjoyment for everyone else. The hints are bad enough. But simply being reminded constantly that there is an end to it, that the story has already been written and seen and is done already, is also bad.

But this is MAL, where those promoted to mod status are themselves the obsessed types, who will always allow the spoiling as long as it's not the most blatant posting of future information.

Can't believe it indeed happened, Fushi saved March, boy what an episode! I'm so glad she's alive. Fushi is definitely the MVP, on the other hand, Parona also did a great job.

Also, those guys' cult is so ridiculous, like they been delivering sacrifices as kids and never checked who ate them? They never knew that this giant OP bear existed? Lmao
it'll be explained next episode that

So, it looks like this story is going to take the path of having It develop as it has new encounters with the people around it, this time learning to say "Thank you" and making a conscious choice to go save March from the situation - implying that It has awareness of circumstances enough to know that March was in danger. That aside, are we supposed to accept that the bear was killed by It tearing its nose apart? I could accept it being incapacitated by an attack on its weak point, but not killed by an attack on a non-vital organ.

Overall, this first proper arc was decent at best, but I'm intrigued to see what happens next now that March, Parona and It have been taken in by Hayase's people

Another fantastic episode! Really damn tempted to read the manga.

Hayase's really damn delusional, she let them live, but I can't trust her, especially after that preview. At least Parona and March survived for now, but I am still afraid for their future. That fight was awesome, and Fushi transforming into Joann was great. We can see that he's having goosebumps while he was fighting, he definitely got stimulation from that fight which caused him to grow. That "thank you" was great, Fushi still has plenty of room to grow. Really looking forward to the next episode.

Yeah, the Orb at last, got the long awaited name! Its Fujimi, no, its Fuji, no no, its Fushi, Fu-chan! What a connection between those two. Meanwhile, the big bear finally arrived. Its cause such a chaos. Good thing Parona succeeded to escape. However, in the other side, Mama Marchi couldn't do anything except just follow those damn ritual after Hayase found her with Fushi. The despair, and the submission under the black background from Marchi mixed well with the bgm. Parona who arrived very late can't do much to break the ties. However, Fushi unexpectedly arrived and wouldn't let the Mama dying!

Unexpected bloody fight between them happening. The immortal orb obviously got the victory, changing itself into the immortal wolf with a good fangs. The orb might get a proper stimulation from the bear, there, possibly can change itself to the bear the next chance. However, the intention to save the Mama Marchi just too strong to pass. The end for the poor huge bear. Too bad the act witnessed lively by Hayase. Evil intention was clearly detected there, even without a clear preview in the end. The way she setting them up to the city just a bluff, only to get them all suffer more later, it seems. The wolf also spoke the word too. Its no good, its not so good. What happened next?

A clue for what that stimulation is, Fushi is shown doing that after biting the bear. Cause that goosebump thing is the key to Fushi in beating the Oniguma

That scene made my heart pound; Fushi's so ethereal and otherworldly that I'm captivated by every scene he's in. This episode did so much justice to the manga with the way it built up the tension of March's seemingly inevitable death only for Fushi to actually save her, and not just from the bear.

No need to pay tribute to giant bear god anymore. Can anyone explain to me, why Fushi in dog form was shivering during his bite to the bears nose, did he realize something? Also his fur cloth also shift to slightly lighter color?

Will March will ever meet up with her family and friends again?

I hope to see Fushi "giant bear form" in the future. I am curious of Hayase backstory, why she so bland and robotic. Since, she allowed March/Parona to live with at her village, I'm willing to give her a chance.

What scenario will hold for the next episode, will we get the whole village/Hayase worshiping Fushi as a god or straight up perform experiments on him?

So they actually believe that Oniguma is a myth but they still do that ritual? and not only that, they also drug the girls and tie them up leaving them no chance at allto fend for themselves against wild animals? It would hold the least bit of meaning if they believed the beast did exist, but what is the point of wasting innocent girls' lives for something they don't even believe in? This is terrible. At least tell me they are the dominant tribe and they are doing this for political dominance kinda like in The Hunger Games.

I never thought a wolf saying "thank you" in anime would sound...creepy?

It seems I was wrong about this anime; I assumed, based on the 1st and 2nd eps, that it would very episodic; at least, in terms of arcs. But it seems that moe-girl, and her older sis, are going to be recurring characters; so this hopefully means that the characters won't be one note. But this is an anime, so the characters most likely won't have any more depth than a puddle.

But don't get me wrong; I'm still really enjoying this anime. It feels mysterious, magical.

The shivering holds the key to how Fushi beat the oniguma, once you know more of Fushi's abilities you will be to know what that shivering means and how he used that to beat the bear. I suggest rewatching it after the season ends or at least after the next arc ends.

First time watcher

It seemed kind of off that the creepy priest (or whatever he is) guarding Parona fired arrows at Oniguma, wouldn't that be blasphemous? The whole sending March to her death is predicated on a deity existing to kill and eat her, but they didn't even believe the deity existed?

Hayase giving March that cube to eat had me worried that the actual death would be caused by poison, but fortunately it was only a sedative...

I assume Oniguma would approach the village looking for humans to eat if it didn't have it's annual sacrifice of 1 girl, but Hayase didn't even believe Oniguma existed so why did she go along with something so inhumane?

The thank you from wolf-mode Fushi was heart warming. March knows it's him....

So next episode Hayase's people are going to conduct human experimentation on Fushi?

Oniguma can obliterate trees and reduce Fushi's body to fleshy pieces but it seems sisterly love is enough for Parona to survive a hit from a huge-ass bear's claw without suffering any scratches.

Surprisingly, things concluded in the most optimistic way possible. March was released from becoming a sacrifice and it seems her village will never have to offer more little girls since their "god" is now dead.

Okay episode overall. Wasn't really impressed by this first story tho.

P.S.: Can't wait for the moment Fushi decides to turn back into a mossy rock!

For me, this show is going into a dive at a dangerous speed.

There are so many incoinsistencies regarding the humongous bear deitity. Like for instance, how come no one in March's tribe has seen before such a massive bear that they refer as their god among those mountains or at the very least have seen all the tree destruction left after it's normal pathing or at the very least find foot prints pretty much anywhere. How did the bear manage to enter the Fort/Sanctuary before without destroying the main entrance due to his massive size. How did Hayase and the other guards could simply ignore Fushimi entering the sanctuary but as soon as he enters they are shocked. How did Parona survive such a fall from the cliffs even suggesting that branches slowed down her fall and likewise she was completely unharmed after such a massive bear maul while the other guard was completely torn in half in previous scenes by a similar attack. Why does Hayase has a change of heart on their customs when she showed no remorse going after March or her siblings to fulfill their traditions.

This really does feel like the anime that I've been waiting for SO long.

A setting and plot that we rarely see compared to most anime settings, a unique and gripping premise that keeps you emotionally invested, strong action and effective gory moments that never go overboard, and some of the most fully realized lovable characters that you can ever ask for!

....The episode count still worries me though. Granted, all the episodes so far have chosen appropriate places to begin and end, and we seem to be reaching the shorter chapters now but, I REALLY don't want this to be Index III all over again, especially with a title as special as this.

Oh PLEASE let the Takunaha and Jananda Island Arcs be well paced and executed..

As you will see, these details become irrelevant in the future. And that is because the story progresses at a rapid pace. So, I would say that don't worry too much about these nitty-gritties and just keep on watching.
