Do you think reading a manga is a faster way to finish a story than watching an anime of same story?

Yeah I think so. You could read like 10 chapters of a manga in the same time that you watch 1 episode of anime.
can dis sig fit

I guess so, reading manga takes fewer times than watching anime. You can skipped some unnecessary scene in anime that takes more time. But also, I think it depends on how far the story of manga than the anime adaptation.

depends on your reading speed, to be honest. some people are slow readers, so for them, watching anime might be faster.

Reading the manga is a faster way than watching the anime, especially for slice of life stuff where it doesn't require much brainpower to process the story. A complicated psychological story might take longer than an episode of the same series if you struggle to understand what's going on.

I just started but I seem to take a lot longer than watching anime. Do people just skim? I don't have a physical book I have to read from online

Depends on
1) if the anims skips lots of manga content then obviously no but then you'll surely be better off with the manga
2) if the anime does not adapt the full story then you'll have to read the rest via the manga anyway
3) your reading speed and/or amount of text in the manga
4) quantity of filler content in the anime

In general I'd say yes, if an episode takes about 24 minutes and a manga chapter 8 minutes or less (there are some exceptions to this latter but that's a minority)

Pls don't write animeS or mangaS >.< // + <50 man(g/hw/hu)a not in MAL. // Join my >manga club< here!

It depends on reading speed and how long the manga is, but for me, it's definitely faster.

Well it's mostly based on how fast you can read and process since average anime episode is 20 min long (might me shorter if you watch most animes on 1.4x speed like me) and you can read manga material compare to 4 to 5 or even more episodes in that time

I was able to catch up with One Piece in less than a month

Even an average anime fan with only popular garbage in their favourites can read over 10 Chapters a day easily

It depends if you like reading and can absorb visual information that's plainly on the page rather then queued by animation, music, and dialouge. If you're a speed reader or just bum crash binging a series you might not get everything out of it with a slower watch via an anime. But if you like reading or like the visual flow of manga it can be very rewarding. Because lets be honest, most series don't get 100% adaptations. Some don't get past a season one in some cases. So reading the manga helps on that front.

1 attack on titan chapter was stretched into a full episode.
That's like 5x the time for the exact same events.
No wonder MAPPA cut up the final season into 4 parts.

But then there is stuff like Hinamatsuri, that anime was preem, but with the lack of comedic timing, as manga just throws a full page worth of info at you, the source material is significantly less enjoyable.
In a well done anime, the time where nothing happens is very important.

it is most of the time i'm far faster with reading the manga counter part to an anime as opposed to watching an adaption.
but the major expectation i can note is Trigun, the chapters are extremely long and it's hard to understand what's happening unless you look extremely closely you can't skim past anything, so it'd take way longer to get through the manga than anime for me.
I like Közi a healthy amount.

Unless it's well paced, I'd suggest just reading the manga for a shorter experience. I would say it would be better reading the higher quality format, but manga is almost always as good or better. (At least in my opinion.)

Yes, manga is faster because it usually takes less time to read chapters than to watch episodes. Also, when reading manga you read at your own pace, which means if there is part of a chapter that's a little boring/uninteresting to you you can read it faster.

I just started 6 weeks ago and I've gotten 2 checks for a total of $2,200...this is the best decision I made in a long time! "Thank you for giving me this extraordinary opportunity to make extra money from home. This extra cash has changed my life in so many ways, thank you!"

unless it's a death note type of anime, it's a fact that reading manga is faster. In other hand, Ln and vn is longer than anime.

Yes I do, because manga you can consume at the pace you want, but with anime you have to let the scenes play out at their own pace.
Plus manga doesn't have any filler.

Yeah, if you're fast reader. You chose the pace you're reading. But you can get burn out if you're not used to reading a lot.

Manga zooms through so fast, but only if you're reading completed manga. If you're reading publishing manga then it's like years until you can finish one, so in that sense it's way longer lol. Whereas anime kinda need all the source material to be done or have enough to work with, so it's easier to watch in one sitting like a season or a good chunk of the manga without having to wait like the manga readers before the anime came out.

Unless the anime is squeezing like ten chapters into a single episode, manga reading is always faster.

Definitely. I can go at my own speed when I read manga. Not that I'm adverse to watching an anime at 2.0x speed, but at that point, I might as well be reading the manga because it feels like I have more control of my pacing that way and it still goes by faster than if I watch the anime. Also, chances are I'd read the manga than watch the anime of a series.

I sometimes read the rest of an anime I'm into in one sitting in the manga because I can see it all at once without having to wait for the rest of the story to come out.

Yeah, I feel like it would be faster than watching the anime. But it also depends on how fast you read. But usually manga for me is way faster.
