No idea. I find it weird they spend the time and effort to watch shows that bad.

I get the some people are completionists about finishing anime and it's possible that the ending of a 1-cour anime may ruin things. But giving something you spent hours of your life to watch and give it a dookey score like 3/10 feels silly.

Like you're just admitting that you watched 12 episodes of trash by your own free will. Not only that, you took the time to write a 1 page essay of why you hated watching all of this show.

Personally if I think a show is 3/10, then I drop that crap immediately. Why subject yourself to trash when you could spend that time watching something good. Just help me understand the thought process here.

calling it trash is a bit much I think a lot of people like to be as unbiased as possible and want to write a fair review a low score review doesn't mean its an article all about how shitty the show is their could be reasons that line up with other reasons like narrative decisions or choices as well as the art style or type of story the anime was trying to be

an example is Baki a anime all about fighting the anime is just that fighting fighting and more fighting they're good fights but its not really much of a narrative or story to be told except for the badass and hype fights in the show

some people don't like this type of show but that doesn't mean its a bad show

plus you need negative reviews and positive reviews and find overlap with both to find whats concerete about the show both are pretty essential

@ChickenDan Plus some people simply like to write reviews its fun to dissect what you like or dislike about something it helps you understand yourself in a way

It's not a big deal to me, but when I go to an anime page and see a 1/10 review then right below there's a 10/10 review. It makes it harder to actually gauge the quality of the show
That's what scores are for. The reviews probably represent the different popular perspectives, but the rating is meant to show the aggregate opinion of the people who watched the anime
