I've seen a lot of people say the reason why CG in anime is bad is because it lacks "frames" and it's all choppy. The reason why CG in anime tends to be like that is so that it would still have that same anime feel, as most anime are animated in 2's (12 fps). This abomination is what happens when you don't animate by 2's and interpolate all frames. The animation isn't particularly stiff or unexpressive, yet it feels so jarring because it's just too fluid. It just looks like some video game's cutscene rather than an anime. Hell, even some video games try to replicate anime's animation style by holding frames (e.g. like those ArcSys games). This anime's production is still redeemable if they animate it by 2's or something. Unlike something like Ex-arm, which was doomed from the start.

On another note, I'm shocked to see an anime adaptation announcement when the manga only started a few months ago and the first volume isn't even out yet.

Facial expressions and linear timing of lip sync reminds me of Ex-arm, but other aspects are way better in terms of rendering and timing based on how this trailer went so far. But then, trailers can be deceptive so we'll see when it's already there.

Still wondering why studios can't just try to emulate Orange, Sanzigen, and MAPPA's CGI. Not saying that the effort above was bad as it's actually very decent, way better, and liveable as far as it goes compared to Ex-arm.

Those with dirty minds will find my Steam pic offensive

HERE WE GO AGAIN...

...is what I wanted to say, but we've come a long way for 3DCG anime in the veins or 2D-3DCG mix. The presentation is definitely leaps better than Ex-Arm, but then again, it's still the trailer production so this is still up in arms.

At least there's a production committee who KNOWS how to make anime, so I'm left wondering if this is what Ex-Arm's production would've been like to veterans, at least for full 3DCG experimentation in the veins of Polygon Pictures.

I really love detective anime but Don’t know if I wanna watch another ex arm animation type the way the characters move, and their body movement is like they’re like slippery or something. They poster looked really nice but the animation for me is a no-no honestly even project scard’s animation is better

Was there really a need to make an anime out of this so soon.
It's not even half a year since this came out, idk how much is this gonna increase sales, even the first volume isn't out.

Can tell I'll probably like this more than Ex-Arm.
Fuck reading signatures, you could be watching One Piece instead.

Give One Piece a shot, no listen. I started One Piece, I watched the first few episodes, I thought it was good. After watching episode 24, I was convinced it was a great show. After finishing episode 37, I was convinced it was a masterpiece and then it continued to deliver and still stands up now. Try it once, if you can watch till ep 37 and still think that it's just an alright show at best, then drop it by all means. (write an L on your forehead while you're at it)

Thanks for reading, if you did. Also fuck your favourite anime if it's not One Piece.

Nah. Anime was much worse than just PV. I assume in this case it will be the same.

Ex-Arm PV was a disaster already but in this case the PV doesn't look as bad as Ex-Arm PV at all. The actual content might be even worse than Ex arm but that's not the point. You can't say it's as bad as ex arm based on just this pv which is better than Ex Arm PV.

There is nothing more generic than the words "super-original." Pass.

Not so sure. Ex-Arm PV was ENTIRELY compiled of scenes that used motion capture, which most likely consumed about 90% of budget and was not representative of this anime in general and motion capture scenes were just a small procentage of whole anime. PVs usually look better because they are made to sell the anime.
Tesla Note already looks awful on PV and I assume an actual anime will look even worse.

This looks better than Ex-Arm. Animation and rendering looks way clearer than Ex-Arm. With that being said though, it doesn’t look that good... The facial expressions, that’s like a necessity for anime, if that’s not there then idk what to say... It makes an anime feel bland and vague. I hope the production is actually better. Also I am completely fine with 3DCG, it’s good when it’s done right.

This looks a bit better then ex-arm , still very bad , I don't mind 3DCG like in Dorohedoro I actually enjoyed it a lot but this is a pass. Despite the fact that I like Masafumi Nishida work.
At least there is Re-main and it's by mappa.

My friend recently recommended this manga. WTF is the trailer, its still bad even though it looks it bit better than Ex-Arm. I was really looking forward to a GOOD action spy anime, sigh.

I'd like to see more footage before I make a judgement on the animation(something definitely feels off though)

This music is also terrible, and the direction is on the goofy side

I recently started reading the manga which was quite fun and the manga getting an adaptation even when it's still very early to have anything worth animating in a TV series. But then it comes out to be Ex-arm 2.0. I just don't understand the new studios, I don't understand why they are using CGI, wasn't it more expensive than 2D but then it's not even as good as Beastars which went full CGI at least from the PV but I will still wait for it.

It doesn't look very polished but it is not horrendous.
Nothing will pass the CGI of the Island of the Giant Insects.

LETS FUCKING GO EX ARM 2 BABYYYYY ANIME OF THE YEAR MATERIAL IS RIGHT HERE

They said "CG anime is da future bro...." 😂

(What's even worse is that this manga premiered on January 6th... isn't it a tad bit too early for an anime?! Is it a straight adaptation or multimedia style?)
(and it looks better than ex-arm.. but that's not really saying much when you take out any comparison)
