I was wondering if anyone knew where I could read the Novel for free. If not that's totally fine, I was also wondering if the anime covered the whole first novel? (Or how much it covers in general)

The novels are currently being licenced by J Novel Club, the first four are out right now. I wouldn't know how much the anime covered though, since I haven't read them.

anime covers vol 1, chapter 1 2 and 3 for vol 2 and chapter 2 for vol 3, not in the right order though and they skipped a bunch of important parts, so i advise you to start over from the beginning.

I would say, start read to Hakushaku Survival or Station Feburary, because the anime had different order comparing to novel or manga.

The manga you can find online and it covers the same amount of content as the novels. At the moment there's only 37 chapters which is close to the end of the 2nd novel. I highly recommend it, as the art is fantastic.

I'd recommend starting from the beginning too (I bought the first 4 volumes of the LN a few days ago). The novel does a far better job explaining motivations of the protagonist not to mention that the order of events depicted make more sense. You could probably get away with skipping some arcs but it's a better experience if you don't
