miyamura was cool in the start but now he only does stuff for hori. and horis just knows and takes advantage of it. then the show focuses on boring ass people like the President and Remi. it went from a nice slice of Life to a borefest.

The score on this site is absolutely delusional for the content, let's be real. No fucking way it's 8.55 worth lmao. Shit pacing, shit side characters, shit comedy. The only real good thing about it is the beginning where we get to see the development between Hori and Miyamura. Great main characters but they manage to fuck up the rest of the story by introducing side characters that nobody cares about. Oh look, a guy who has a crush on Hori? Let me introduce his name in one random episode and never show him ever again. The little girl living next to Miyamura? Insert her into a random episode and never show her again!

I pretty much agree with the the first bit but the side character stories were good but u should never give them more importance than the main couple and after the horimiya confession scene I was pleasantly surprised that they did that at the start and was hopeful that they would expand the relationship and how that ties into other characters but for the love of God kinks, insecurities of gay relationships and just a fucking comedy skit(of hori and miyamura) in every episode is not exploring a relationship imo

This series dropped in quality after the confession scene but only when compared with itself when comparing to other light hearted romcoms it's pretty good. If it gives more screen time and love towards the main couple in the next 2 to 3 eps then I can see it being an 8 for but it doesn't deserve a mal score of more than 8.25 imo.

Well most of it due to manga popularity anyway so I'm happy for the manga readers who wanted this adaptation.

Plus should I read the manga after the anime stops airing?

Its not necessarily that its boring. Its that there was so much cut content that you don't have enough time to spend with the whole cast. Which means you don't give a damn about the most of the characters because they get no screen time and no real development. People say horimiya isn't a bad adaptation for cutting content but for the AMOUNT of content they cut it is what makes it a objectively bad adaption of a otherwise good story. Ppl also claim that this show doesn't have mello drama but the shit today with yuki and how hori reacted when Miyamura came back from Hokkaido is def melodrama at its finest... Im enjoying Jakuchara much more and I'd recommend it for you to check out. Its like Oregairu but less convoluted (which means it wont require a re watch) and easier to digest. Its also has a better balance of the comedy,drama,romance, life and life lessons stuff. The studio thats making the show is known for one and dones but Jaku will probably break that trend and will prob get a season 2, 3 (4?) given that the series (LN) is popular and ongoing in Japan.

The only episodes that are not boring is where Papa Hori is featured and the first few episodes of Hori and Miyamura development before becoming a couple. The rest are mid.

Tbh, I kinda confused after the last few episodes. It was a good start at first, but then there’s a lot of side characters story/plot that just kinda shoved in and I’m just got lost with the main story. I also feel like That I don’t have any much connection with them yet. Hell, I don’t even remember their names (except Hori and Miyamura). But I don’t know man, maybe that’s just me...

Kinda agree, beginning episodes weren't the strongest but I wanted to give it chance, just when it was starting to get better towards the middle, it became boring again with the latest episodes.

Since I read the manga, I can relate to what OP is saying. A popular romantic slice of life comedy has set up some expectations. But it failed to live up to those expectations. So people start to dislike it more than they would have if their expectations for it were low. Being let down is not a good feeling after all.

It’s at the point where the side characters are getting too much screen time and in manga it’s like where the first 45 are main then goes to side which the anime tried to balance out but it’s your opinion if u think it panned out.

i liked these episodes. it's super rare for anime to explore people's sexual sides, even in seinen/josein anime. also it's quite realistic lol, we don't all openly admit it but most people have 1 or 2 kinks

You're not alone. I don't get how the score is still so high. It was entertaining for the first few episodes but now it is unbearable.

The side characters aren't developed. They have 1 joke at most, they act in a stupid way which contradicts their past behavior.

Meanwhile I agree the show's boring as hell, I actually liked the 10th episode. In contrast to basically every single other character in the show, Yuki is actually a pretty interesting character. The interaction between her and purple hair dude was pretty good, in their conversation he caught on to the metaphor, which was pretty cool.
I needed to backtrack to the end of ep 8 to get what's going on, since I basically skipped everything until this ep.

I have come to notice how boring both its manga and anime have become. Also latest episodes kinda cringed me out. Us, manga readers hyped it too much and it certainly doesn't deserve such a high score. Maximum it could be is 8.10.
