After watching the live action I was looking into the anime version and was wondering if the subtitles on the Tencent Video youtube channel are good or not? Also how much does the anime version differ from the live action version?

Since you haven't seen the show yet I will reply. So far I am on Ep 5 and the subtitles are okay. Kinda Engrishy in some parts but for sure understandable.

Apparently some things had to be changed quite a lot because of the censorship, so there definitely are a lot of differences. However, the biggest part of the plot and most of the worldbuilding is the same, as far as I know.

The subtitles, while not great, are understandable. If you want them to be excellent and without mistakes, I hate to disappoint you, but they're not. I personally don't really care about mistakes, as long as everything is still understandable. But I would definitely recommend watching the donghua, it's great (and if you're afraid not being able to watch the later episodes... There are ways)
