| My favorites are complex and deep works of art so most criticism comes from plebs who didn't even understand them yet want to voice their pleb complaints. So their opinions are inherently toxic as it comes from a place of misunderstandings. |

| There are only 2 that would somewhat bother me if someone criticized. Chainsaw man, and Attack On Titan. Though, its not being toxic if you have critism against anything. I can handle AOT critism now. Im wont get bothered. For Chainsaw man, I'd get bothered a bit. People have every right to criticize though. Maybe I'll get a little mad if they say "This anime is shitty garbage" or some shit. Other than, criticism is fine. |

| I can accept any criticism towards Neon Genesis Evangelion and LoGH, because there are many great mecha and space opera anime from the 70s, 80s and 90s I haven't seen, so I can't be sure that they are the best in their genres. i can't say the same for Nana. Nana is objectively the best romance anime. |

| I mean it depends on how the criticism is given. If they say something like this: "I am not a fan that show. I thought it was kinda bad because blah blah blah. It is ok you like it though since we have different tastes." I am fine with that cause they respect my right to like it and I respect there right to not like it. However, if they say something like this: "You like that show?!?! That show is trash and your taste in anime is shit because of it. Only morons like that garbage anime." Than I don't care about the criticism because they are going out of their way to a prick to me for liking. If you do that fuck you and I hope you lick a homeless person's ass. |

| sure, people can insult my favs, can call them bad, edgy, weird, ugly looking, but I couldn't care less. I watched and rewatched those so many times I know all about it, I don't need no smartass to tell me it's bad because of a certain element because I would probably love that element. But yeah, I won't give my favs an extra shine that it doesn't have, I mean, you won't see me praising the mecha fights in rahxephon as being the best in mecha anime history because it's not. But I don't like the anime because of the fights, the mecha battles don't really matter to the overall plot |

| I think the question "why" is quite powerful. The moment I see someone outright hating on something I like, I just ask them "why do you think that?" They either don't reply (if online), give vague, and at times toxic, answers (in which case I keep asking "why"?), or actually calm down and end up giving criticism (valid or otherwise). I see this quite often. A lot of people who just yell toxic stuff calm down the moment you question them about it. This is also why I think people are lot nicer in real life compared to online. They don't have the liberty to hide behind a screen and ignore legitimate questions directed at them. So it's easier to embarrass yourself. And the more toxic you are, the bigger the embarrassment. |
| Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Not every human is the same, not everyone has the same tastes or preferences. If they don't like my favorite anime, that's totally fine with me. I can't expect everyone to like what I like. Disliking something I like is not toxic. Having an opinion is not toxic. |

| There isn't really an anime/manga I feel that strongly about it where I would defend it that much. Only like a tiny few of works where I probably get kinda defensive if people critique it (honestly Tolkien's writings and the LOTR films might be the only ones). I still won't go after someone character over a fictional work. |
| I hope nobody actually believes fair criticism is toxic. Even your favorite show has flaws, sorry if you are just finding this out now lol. Example: I love HxH(2011) it's probably my favorite anime of all time, however lots of people have issue with a certain arc and the pacing/narrator. Totally a reasonable criticism. Even though that's my favorite arc probably of any shonoun ever, I still understand why some people would find the narrator annoying. But if you love the narrator then you are in for a treat. |

| I know people will criticize my favorites and I welcome a healthy discussion about it. I can't imagine being offended by someone who holds a different opinion. It only becomes toxic if the other person is blatantly disrespectful and dogmatic about their criticism i.e., 'I don't know how someone could like such a series,' etc. |
