| The things that get highly rated are the ones that subvert our expectation away from the 100s of repeat hentai with the same sex scenes and dialogue plastered over and over and over. That, and things are not nearly as appealing once the drugs wear off. |

| I don't speak for the entirety of the userbase but I personally struggle to find hentai that I like so I don't rate them very high. You could say I'm an ecchifag. I haven't given up yet though. There are still some that look cool. |

| Most of them don't deserve a high score but some of them do with their high production and good voice acting. Such as Ane wa Yanmama and Master Piece, they're good and rated high on mal (there are a lot more examples but these are the ones that I could recall right now). |
