Me personally i just refer to anyone of any gender as "dude" because to me all my friends are well liked equally and what better way to refer to them as that as "Dude" yeah, dude is pretty general and always works out well. |

| Depends on the person, scenario, and tone. I know a lot of people who use terms like that in condescending tones (usually my gay friends) and it can be kind of annoying. But for the most part I couldn't care less. |

| It really depends on the person, what they say, and in what scenario they say it. If someone calls me a dear for helping them out, that's okay, but if some random bloke does it regularly then it's incredibly creepy and rather invasive. I don't consider those cheesy nicknames romantic, either. The terms can also be used sarcastically. |

| personally i find it a little cringey being called honey, dear, baby, sweetheart etc. unless its my mom, grandma etc. i personally think if i am dating someone i would be preferred to be called a name thats just for me, something that isnt basic. |
