Do you think that show is underrated? Why do you think it's rated so low? Why did you like it so much?

For me its "Story of Perrine". I think it's rated low because it's much older and I like it because of the charming and wholesome storytelling elements that exist through out the show.

KnK 1 at a 7.64.

I feel that it is slightly underrared, but I understand why people don't like the first movie.

for strictly a 9, i dunno if it'd survive a re-watch, but it probably comes off as odd to several others that I have the 2nd season of Working!! as a 9

technically Koi wa Ameagari no You ni / After the Rain would be the lowest, but the reason as for why it's in the lower 7s is self-evident (age gap relationship thing) so that's a less interesting answer

Hana to Alice: Satsujin Jiken (7.39) but Sakura Quest (7.41) is very close too.
The former is more like a Tv film than an anime and not just because it was made by rotoscoping technique but also it was directed by Shunji Iwai who has made mostly Tv dramas and movies (two of them I like a lot) and then only this one anime, that doesn't feel like your usual anime stuff and that is why it is refreshing after seasonals.

The second one, Sakura Quest had been dropped by me the first time I started to watch it because its flashy colours and seemingly dumb first episode fooled me into thinking it was an empty CGDCT but later I picked it up again and it has turned out to be actually a very good SOL with interesting themes.

It's probably not underrated, tbh. I just like it because I think it has a cute story, but not everyone agrees and that's fine.

I think it's a bit underrated compared to other shoujos but its certainly not for everybody.
But I love this anime to death because it got me into the romance/shoujo genre.

Servamp and Tsukumogami Kashimasu

Servamp probably has too many characters, doesn't have a proper sequel despite having a story which would benefit from it, not all characters are likeable and to some it may seem like the ties between the two MCs are too forced. I know I'd definitely like it less if this was a romance anime.

Tsukumogami Kashimasu caters to a very specific itch of mine, so it may not exactly be what others look for in an anime. There's a lack of fights, the main human characters are adults (so there may be a relatability problem for younger fans). If you don't care for the Tsukumogami mystery stuff this anime is really boring. It also relies on the Tsukumogami a lot despite having two plenty capable adult humans as main characters. There's also the era it takes place in, it's not very progress-friendly, to say the least.

Servamp definitely deserves a better score (maybe a 7.10?) but Tsukumogami Kashimasu I merely find underappreciated.

Golden time is definitely underrated, i dont get why it's rated under an 8.00, should be higher for sure.

I remember when megalo box just started airing and everyone i talked to about it gave up on it after the first couple episodes, i still don't understand why.

I should correct myself, I clicked on Shunji Iwai profile and it has turned out that he has contributed to a few other obscure anime and he was the original creator of the worst anime movie I have ever watched "Fireworks, Should We See It from the Side or the Bottom?". There is a live action movie directed by him that tells the story of what happens after the Hana to Alice anime if you are interested after having finished the anime. The movie is mediocre, but notwithstanding the anime itself could be interesting to someone who is into SOL like me and would like to see the familiar panels and cliches of the genre told from a different perspective and using an unusal animation style.

There's several animes that I gave with a 9, so I'll rank them.

1.Darling in the FranXX, with a MAL score of 7.35
The reason I gave this a 9 is simple. Because it was my first anime that introduces me into the weeb world. Let's just say it's my opening into this weeb world. I know I chose the wrong anime to start, and I know for sure that this anime is trash and has became some sort of a hate center in the anime community, but I just love this goddamn trash. The romance and drama made me addicted and made me feel like I want more (from DitFranxx itself and from the animes in general). It gaves me the idea of how the romance vibes that animes could give me.

2.Ano Natsu de Matteru, with a MAL score of 7.50.
The second anime that I watched after DitfranXX. It should be pretty obvious why I gave this a 9 if you read all my ramblings above.

3.Shuumatsu nani Shitemasu ka? Isogashii Ii desu ka? Sukutte Moratte Ii desu ka? (SukaSuka), with a MAL score of 7.74
Again, the romance aspect just clicks with me. The drama is nice, and it's a goddamn tearjerker (for me tho), and it was my 5th anime that I watched after DitFranxx

Basically, I gave three of those anime a 9 just because it's "Special", and they're giving me the idea of how animes could manipulate my emotions differently comparing to the movies I've watched before. Idk, man. They're just special.

Not counting any of the Pikachu shorts, the anime with the lowest MAL average rating as of this typing that I gave a 9+ is Air (7.32).

I definitely want to rewatch this anime soon and might even consider putting it on my Profile Favorites if I still enjoyed it as much as I did the first time... but yeah, I think this show was great. I'm aware that some people who played the original visual novel consider it rushed, but I haven't played it so I don't know if it's rushed for sure... either way, I think that it's kinda sad to see that Air is the least loved/remembered one from the "KyoAni holy trinity".

lol i should correct myself as well, I have actually seen "Hana To Alice" i got it confused with a different sol story. But yes I thought it was good, I have not seen the live action though. Also "fireworks" was terrible, oh my god the writing was awful.

i think mine's between kuzu no honkai & ahiru no sora

kuzu no honkai's not for everyone lol self-explanatory but it achieved what it set out to be, beautifully may i add.
ahiru no sora probably because of the poor animation and it seemed to drag out for most & people thought it would be at least fair for them to win a match or two like in a typical sports anime, but i absolutely loved all the characters, the coming-of-age story, the character development, loved it. but i'm biased, i would think the MAL score's justified.

I think "air" has been a bit forgotten over the years, but I enjoyed it when I watched it, I thought the movie was descent to. Definitely a good precursor to watching kanon, same art style, similar themes.
