This looks great. I know some people might be hesitant about the director, but I personally love what I've seen of his. This looks like Nagi no Asukara mixed with Irozuku and Children of the Sea (more for the setting). Very excited. Edit - I also just noticed the music is by Yoshiaki Dewa, who is one of my absolute favorites. ![]() |
Looks fantastic! As @Xaeveax pointed out earlier, the PV really gives off vibes from Nagi no Asukara & Kaijuu no Kodomo with Irozuku's aesthetics and that's fab! Besides, it's a PA Works Original and that's already more than enough to win me over. ![]() #Anime4Life be my Life Motto! #PrayForKyoAni |
Is the spelling "Auatrope" official, and is that even a word? The website is spelled "Aquatobe" though. ![]() |
Just quoting one guy from ANN. "There's no debate—the katakana clearly read "アクアトープ," meaning "aquatrope." The anime studio inability to proofread English strikes again." And official site uses "Aquatope". They butched up the twitter message. I doubt PAW will go even with subtext GL, but I still can hope. ![]() |
PA Works + beautiful artworks + Aida Rikako + looks like to be yuri = I'm in. The story also revolves around the aquarium which I also like to visit the Japanese aquarium. That's made it more interesting for me. |

I get strong yuri vibes. it's possible that it is the first romantic anime of P.A.Works ? ![]() "The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." |

Looks INCREDIBLY amazing, sasuga P.A. It's very colorful and sparkly, it strongly reminds me of my favorite original anime of 3 years ago, Irozuku Sekai. I hope the story will be as good as the anime look. But this is enough so far to make it one of my most anticipated upcoming original anime. Now time for me to rewind this trailer over and over and over again, due to how beautiful it is. ![]() |
Although not all of P.A. Works originals work for me, the story still sounds interesting and cast and staff sounds pretty good as well, so I'm looking forward to this one. At the very least it will be looking pretty fancy from what the teaser looks like, even if nothing else works - but I guess I'll have to wait and find out what it'll be. ![]() |
Akarinnnn said: >Rikako Aida (Senryuu Shoujo) Surely she's better known for another role? Maybe like one from that one massive franchise? Just deal with it. MAL staff uses stupid ANN policy to mention most recently licenced anime even if it is not the best option. ![]() |
Hmmm... not enough info about the anime, I'll be waiting for more info and see if it's gonna be interesting! Looks like we're gonna have Nagi no Asukara mix with Irozuku vibe, Minna-san! ![]() Modified by Cocoa_Hoto, Jan 15, 1:48 PM |
z00nex said: The pv looks good. Rikako Aida is voicing an idol yet again, I like her voice in LL so I don't think she'll disappoint with this one. I'm even think this is going to best role in her anime seiyuu career. Looks like she very excited about that, and so was me! \\(^o^)// Perhaps she can do the best to fulfill this high expectation. ![]() Modified by Yudistira, Jan 15, 4:09 PM |
Nagi No Asukara is still my favorite show from P.A. Works, so knowing this show also use Aquatic theme, I also feeling exicted. Cant wait. ![]() |
@Hrybami @Xenocrisi @Piromysl I love how people start to be happy or upset that this is "shoujo ai" even though we actually don't know anything about this show yet, lol. Theo1899 said: Now the important question is: is this bait or actual lesbian? I'm not even sure if it will be bait at all. But Miku's involvement in this and the apparent absence of male characters could mean something. P.A. Works has a lot of misses these days, idk if ill try it... They are damn great looking misses tho. ![]() |
@FullyCharged It would be more accurate to say that the non-canon label "shoujo ai" is mainly used for a show that is nothing more than bait. KANLen09 said: OHH...Nagi no Asukara with a pinch of Iroduku? Regardless though, P.A. Works originals have a lot to anticipate about, though a recurring practice for more than a decade. If two female protagonists were a deliberate or unintentional bait and this turns out to be the second Iroduku, then I literally will laugh for several days, rereading all these comments on twitter, where yuri fans for some reason decided that a date in an aquarium is some kind of special trope of yuri manga ![]() |
Another anime that's giving Kyoani vibes and Adachi to Shimamura vibes because of how they're narrating their feelings and thoughts. Looking forward to this one. ![]() |
