Honestly im not sure. There are a few problems with a second season. 1 the anime does a poor job of giving us the plot. Skipping or skimming most of the important character developments. Also this anime was produced by Maho Film which has never had a second season done on any anime they've made. So if we do get one it probably wont be for a couple years if at all. Personally though i hope so cause despite skipping character stuff i rather like the easy going of the show and even though hes 40 crushing on a 12 year old i think they are cute together so id like a 3 year reunion and a season 2

In terms of the English Translation of the novel, it does seem to be somewhat ongoing. That said, the anime covered the first 3 volumes (rather, skimmed it), and 5 are translated officially so far.

I hope it will get another season. There are really not many animes with slice of life in fantasy medieval world(mostly with isekai where MC trying to make things all of us know but they not) without any fights/betrayals/forced comedies. I really love type of animes like this one or "Uchi no Ko no Tame" or "Honzuki no Gekokujou". They really make me smile even when I had bad mood before, its good for relaxing and good mood.

Based on MAL they had only 3 animes including this one and one of these 3 animes has already announced 2nd season so really misleading information.

I also want more ''with the slimes'' episodes.
The novel and the manga adaptation are currently ongoing so a second season covering more relaxing stories would be wonderful.

I have seen upto Episode 8. So far, I haven't found anything making this anime a deserving candidate for a second season.

In recent years, this happens to be one of the weakest Isekai show I have ever seen. I am saying so considering I am a big fan of isekai shows & have watched 80%+ of isekai shows that have finished airing as of now.

The story is indeed average but at the same time the atmosphere is very soothing and lovely.
The above also goes for the cast of characters.

There is now way someone still believes that the only driving force of a second season is the commercial success of video home releases of the previous season.
There's much more stuff going on deciding whether something will get another season or not.

It depends entirely on the production committee in question.
Video home releases are important but not the end game for many animations; making the original work more popular or selling merchandise can be more critical than relying on selling overpriced BDs and DVDs.

BDs aren't relevant anymore, streaming revenues yes but most important are source material and merchandise sales.
