| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Suprised no one actually made a single discussion on this series in the forum. Getter Robo G so far is superior to the original series in nearly every aspect. The fights are more interesting and i enjoy the more traditional mecha designs as opposed to those redicilous dinosaur robotic machines that was from the dinosaur empire in the original show. There is alot more variation in attacks as well with the getter robo and the villians are a bit more intelegent and try to sabatoge, manipulate and exploit weaknesses of the getter team in order to take them down, similar to mazinger with how Baron ashura ran things and I am also really enjoying the new team member Benkai. Its nice to also see things develop more on the villians side and the writing makes you feel like some of the villians are characters that are also victims to. How ever the Hyaki empire and the supporting villians seem to really only stick around to give orders much like the classic getter robo and typical monster of the week villains don't really have a part to play in the story aside from their respective episode. So in that respect its not quite up to the quality as Gatchamon or even the early Mazinger. But for sure i am enjoying this much more then the original Getter Robo. |
