It took me until this episode and Santas excessive praise for Mikan to notice that the character Mikan Yamamura is based on the mangaka that wrote the source material, Mika Kawamura.

That didn't even cross my mind until now, well done! :)

Now the only remaining mystery to me is what that little "angel"-looking creature is that you constantly see in the episodes.
