I only have two but I don't really think it means anything. You can only have 10 favorites so choose wisely ig it doesn't matter that much

I have Chiyuki from Death Parade and Hange from AoT

Nope. I would add akemi takada if I hadn't run out space but I really don't care about my favorites list being diverse. The only thing that matters is having Mr. H in the top spot.

Mari Okada is the obvious one

i also have 2 singers in my fav list - Itou Kanako (most likely my most listened to anime related singer) and ALI PROJECT (i love their style)

honorary mentions go to CLAMP (mangaka woman group, watched or read almost everything they made), and Ishizuka Atsuko (director; i wish she would have as many projects as Okada :<)

there are also other notable female mangaka and singers i could list.. but these are the ones i have most knowledge and experience

i dont really care about seiyuu, but i would also like to give a mention to Megumi Hayashibara who i mainly love as a singer

There are more female than male in my favourite people list.

The first one is Murasaki Shikibu poet, lady-in-waiting and the writer of the first harem novel.

The second one Hirosue Ryoko who had only a tiny support role in an anime I haven't even watched but I had a crash on her when she played in the movie Departures so that is why she is there.

The third one is the singer Aimer, I guess a lot of anime fans know who is she.

The fourth is Yamada Naoko animator and director.

And there are three seiyuu too: Kotobuki Minako, Sawashiro Miyuki and Iguchi Yuka .

okada mari? seriously?
anyways, I have ohtaka shinobu (the mangaka of sumomomo and magi) and the best illustrator of sexy chicks, the one and only Rinshin (ikkitousen, words worth).
I couldn't care less about them being women or aliens or whatever.

Yes Rumiko Takahashi (actually she might be my favourite person in the industry) the author of some of my favourite romcoms like maison ikkoku and Ranma 1/2 and also Naoko Yamada the director behind k on, a silent voice and other kyoani production. Personally I think it will be pretty forced to have a quota on what type of people are in something like a favourite list though.

Yes I do. The non-VA is Yuki Kajiura for her music.

I don't care about the male to female ratio for favorite people. If I had a choice, I'd put the studios instead, but MAL doesn't do that.

Rumiko Takahashi - my favorite mangaka
Naoko Takeuchi - mangaka
Yuki Kajiura - my favorite anime ost composer, actually my favorite soundtrack composer all time.

Don't talk to me about character development if Kaizuka Inaho or Slaine Troyard are in your favorites.

Yes:
  • Ikuko Itoh - her 90s art style is very famous due to her being the character designer for 2 seasons in Sailor Moon. she is also the creator of Princess Tutu, which is considered as a cult classic in the magical girl fandom (I even heard it's 4chan's favorite anime).
  • CLAMP - a mangaka circle consisting of four women famous for creating Cardcaptor Sakura and making the original character designs on Code Geass.
  • Yuki Kajiura - a legendary composer whose name kinda needs no introduction to most MAL forum regulars.
  • Yoko Shimomura - another legendary composer, famous for her work on the Kingdom Hearts series and several Mario RPGs, such as Super Mario RPG and the Mario & Luigi games.

Here's some other people who have either been in my Favorites list before or may gain a spot soon, idk they're still worth mentioning imo:
  • Naoko Takeuchi - famous for creating Sailor Moon. I put her in my Favorites list before, but I soon removed her because I realized I don't know much about her or her work compared to some other people I really like. maybe will consider putting back after I read her other stuff like Toki Meka.
  • Arina Tanemura - famous for Full Moon wo Sagashite, The Gentleman's Alliance Cross, and for creating the character designs on iDOLiSH7. I am considering adding her later after I read more of her work or something, her art style is great and she makes the kind of stories that I would like to make.
  • Megumi Tachikawa - very underrated mangaka who created Saint Tail. I love her art style so much.
  • Megumi Kadonosono - was part of gímik, I liked her art style in Uta Kata very much and the Sun outfit she created for Ichika in the first episode is easily the best magical girl outfit in the whole show.

idc what gender they are
or "try to make it diverse"
thats stupid
if you like creator x's work then u like it
its not like a gender is attached to someones work

"yeah the creator of show x is a woman man, might have to check it out man"
see how stupid this sounds

i dont want to offend u
but you like what u like
thats it

I usually have characters on my list I find really inspirational or interesting.
This includes 5 female characters (and 5 males) and I think this will never change because for me my fav character list is pretty much perfect lol

Farnese De Vandimion (Berserk)
Violet Evergarden
Tomoyo Sakagami (Clannad)
Sakurajima Mai (Rascal does not dream of bunny girl senpai)
Illyasviel von Einzbern (Fate Series, NOT KALEID!!)
