Noblesse Episode 7 Discussion

In a year, everyone's who'll remember this series will remember it by this episode, mark my words. Calling it a waste is already unsubstantiated, since it was better than the most of the content we had so far.

A relaxed episode, with a sad ending. Seira appeared to be more interesting.

So lets not do anything at all, because 0 episodes is better than 12 episodes. Yes, logic.

So lets cram 500 episodes of content into 12 episodes so we dont have good product depicting the beginning of the story, but instead a hot mess that would be complete garbage, like proven so many times before. Logic^2.

Yeah, this episode is not filler, no matter how hard some people want it to be. Just like training arcs are not filler, even though they often bring temporary tonal shifts into the series and are often never returned to. I could say Fullbringers are just filler, or that Naruto flashbacks are filler or that Naruto eating ramen is filler. Everything I dont like is filler. Filler begone!

No offense but you don't get what other mean do you? He didn't say to cram 500 chapters into 12 episodes. He said if they have money to make 500 chapters into anime then adding filler is okay but if they don't then they shouldn't waste that resource on a random filler and adapt actual content.

I stopped reading after several hundreds chapters and while it is interesting and the art pretty, the constant pissing contest between literally every single character is boring as hell, especially Dr. Cromwell. Omg. The translation does't help either. After I saw 40th take on 'this time it will be worthy opponent' with the same fking smirk on his face, talking tough shit, then dead as 39 times before, dropping dead, I said screw it. 5 personalities copy-pasted ad-nauseum. It is very satisfying and has good action, but I could feel my brain cells dying with each sentence. Its not good in high dosage.

In my defense, its 5AM here and I barely see the text. I also didnt say he specifically said it (but I did sort of imply it), but I regularly see people complain about that very thing. I may have misunderstood, but my position remains the same.

So allow me to reply to what you said he had meant:

No it isnt. Filler is never okey. But if there is purpose to it and it uplifts the adaptation into something more, then it is no longer filler, even if it is original content.

They should if there is an actually relevant intent behind it.
This isnt random, nor filler, nor waste. You wont be able to rip this ep out of the series, like you could if it was a filler. The episode isnt even a change in pattern or execution from earlier episodes. This series was designed to be character-driven and this design change (from the source) is part of the transformation, an obvious intent - hence lack of fights or presence of comedic elements is not sign of a filler (even if this content in the original source would seem that way). This episode follows what has been laid before and built on top of it and next episodes will build on top of this one as well. You wont be able to take this ep out. The episode is more light-hearted, because content has been rearranged to fit an episodic format and to bless us with a breather after earlier episode.

Good episode, a breather from the shit that happened the last few episodes.

This was a hilarious episode, especially the basketball game. Even Takeo had to show off lmao. It's great to see the union boys chilling.

I would've felt better if they just off screened the erasing of memories, did not expect to get the feels at the end there, that was pretty sad.

Let's go new arc incoming, the nobles have appeared.

A pretty fun episode. I enjoyed the comedy, it gave me some Gintama vibes in how its premise was executed. I still have no idea why the art is so bad given how popular the IP is. It’s a shame, because parts of that basketball scene looked rough.

It was a fun episode. I'm just disappointed they cut the two female students from the anime even though 1 of them was pretty integral in the OVA how long ago.

Despite being a filler episode, I still found today's episode entertaining, something I can't say about other series.

Filler is still filler though.

So I thought that the anime had completely given up to be a serious show and decided to be a high school comedy instead, which would be fine by me, it was a funny episode I laughed a lot. But then this ending came out of nowhere and kinda broke me. I will be really sad if these two just disappear from the story so I hope they will somehow get their memories back.

Sort of a filler episode, but I quite enjoyed it nonetheless.

Poor Yuu. I want Seira x Yuu ship. I felt bad for both when they were going to rewrite their memories.

U know they are pulling that ending from like chapter 500 so yea let’s skip everything in between to lol

lmao I am not surprised that Shin-woo likes seira. She is the only non-mob female character. Was funny how Rai's knights just all wanna ditch until Rai stepped in. Funny episode. Seira's hair flip in the beginning lol

So, after a fairy good episode last week, we came back to the comedy/slice of life episodes. Personally I didn't appreciate the comedy episode this time around, after the previous episode I expected more, and while the comedy was not particularly bad or anything, i taught that maybe now the show would start to pick up and be more serious.
Oh, and I "love" that after all of the shenanigans that went down last episode, everyone just accepted that Rai is this god or whatnot without any question or anything...

He could be animated. I mean is the episodes limit set?

I don't think his memories about Seira were overwritten. Rai stated that only the 'dangerous' part will be deleted and replaced with something.

Oh damn... might just give the entire franchise a miss then!

This chapter was less intense and more relax. The basketball match was funny and I laughed with it lol M-21 is my fav at the moment.

The post credit scene was interesting...

I would prefer the show to be a comedy more than an action. I hope the next arc isn't that bad.

It's most likely gonna be 24 episodes long at least, the next arc is pretty long.

It was confirmed that Noblesse will have 12 episodes.

Also it will most likely cover the next arc/Lukedonia arc in the remaining 5 episodes.

i did enjoy the comedy in this episode. i guess it wouldn't be filler if you saw it as them coming together to help tashiro, but then again that last part was waaaaaay too dramatic lol that tonal shift was so jarring, they could have just shown them post-memory erasure & left that emotional impact to us to process on our own without all that exposition like seriously, that OST even lol????

Very fun and also kinda sweet episode. So many hilarious scenes. I think my favorite episode so far. Although obviously the whole memories erasure put a damper on it at the end...

Filler, but honestly... it was actually funny.

Damn feels bad for Yuu's memories to be erased after Yuu tried to confess to Seira.

I didn't knew what to expect after the fight against the Union members but damn this was super funny. The whole boy squad trying to help Yuusuke to get a chance with Seira. Especially the basketball match was absolute hilarious.

The little conversation between Yuusuke, Seira and Manabu was nice. Seira is absolute right. The best way is to be yourself. It's just sad that Rei had to erase their memories again. I know it's to protect them but still bittersweet.

That ending looked promising. I also hope the new arc will be good.

That was refreshing.

This episode was a nice change of pace. Kinda sad they had to lose some of their memories again but it's most likely better that way. Can't wait to watch the next episode.

I admit I really enjoyed the basketball scenes, I was thinking "When did this become a sports anime"? LOL

...and a memory wipe for the humans.

This show keeps improving with each episode. I've loved the pacing and felt it nails different genres really well. Also all the characters have been really well built up and the interactions are really well done.

their relationship feels ingenuine with their memories being erased. it's very weird how it played out to be some nice touching scene when it's really the contrary
