Frontier Works opened an official website for an anime adaptation of Hidekaz Himaruya's Hetalia World☆Stars side story manga on Saturday. The anime, featuring returning cast members from Hetalia Axis Powers, will debut in Spring 2021.

There are strange people in this world. If it is short, it will disappear for several days, and if it is long, it will disappear for hundreds of years. The name and personality changed, and suddenly appeared by someone's unexpected idea. Even though he is the most weird, he is loosely accepted and used by his boss. This is the story of such strange people.

North Italy, South Italy: Daisuke Namikawa (Kono Oto Tomare!)
Germany: Hiroki Yasumoto (Hoozuki no Reitetsu)
Japan: Hiroki Takahashi (Ensemble Stars!)
America, Canada: Katsuyuki Konishi (Deca-Dence)
United Kingdom: Noriaki Sugiyama (ReLife)
France: Masaya Onosaka (Shin Tennis no Ouji-sama)
Russia: Yasuhiro Takato (Boku no Hero Academia)
China: Yuki Kaida (Queen's Blade: Unlimited)

Hiroshi Watanabe (Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae) is returning to direct the anime at Studio Deen. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Mairimashita! Iruma-kun) and Mariko Oka (Hatsukoi Monster) are also returning to handle the series composition and character designs, respectively.

Himaruya began drawing the spin off manga in Shounen Jump+ in September, 2014. Shueisha published the fourth volume in June 2017. The manga went on hiatus in April 2018.

The original Hetalia Axis Powers web manga inspired six seasons of net anime between January 2009 and October 2015. An anime film titled Hetalia Axis Powers Movie: Paint it, White premiered in Japan in June 2010.

I didn't expect this. Great news. I can't wait to see Italy and his silly hijinks again.

When I decided to give it a chance, Hetalia was one of my least favorite anime ever when it was airing, and then it suddenly followed suit with two of the first fanbases that ever made me cringe when I was like 7-8 years old: Homestuck and Hetalia (although I liked Homestuck a lot)

(ngl I forgot Hetalia existed for like the past five years)
Every story has something more to deliver than the surface story.

Finally the anime adaptation I've been waiting for. I absolutely loved the Hetalia: World Stars manga so I'm hyped to see it animated. I'm just hoping that the fandom doesn't blow up and become toxic again.

I didn't even know Hetalia had seasons beyond World Series. What do you MEAN this'll be the 7th season?

Maybe I'm finally gonna watch it now. Was recommended to me years ago by a fujoshi.
One Piece episode 914 & 915 were a mistake.

I'm so excited! I'd been hoping that World Stars would get an anime adaptation for years by now, let alone new content in general! I'm ready

Whoa so totally skim reading in Japanese here, but according to Himaruya on his new Twitter account, serialization of World Stars is going to continue. At the same time, I guess he'll be working on another manga. OO: Don't push yourself too hard, my dude, but oh my goodness, what a nice birthday gift! Bring on the Hetalia! I quite like World Stars, so I'm glad this is happening! I guess with the anime coming out it's a good time to get some manga stuff going too. So I guess it's possible that the anime will end up with some pretty darn modern content if he's just gonna kinda be working on it in these times!

I wonder if they really wanted to push things like Hetalia for 2021 because of the Olympics. Anyway...

Enjoy your anime!
