| Out of the only four I'm watching currently, Probably actually Majo no Tabitabi for the OP (love the calming shots of her perched above the city and just walking through the different town fruit markets and such) & Higurashi Gou for the ED (the visuals are especially complementary for one already familiar with the series and previous seasons and all the trials and travails the characters have had to endure - plus I love how every image looks like colored pencil sketches) Hanyou no Yashahime would be a close second for EDs though. It's very calming after sometimes the high intensity drama, action, and other energetic behavior or raucous exchanges and behavior of characters in the episode preceding it, in line with the tradition of Inuyasha EDs as the series successor, and also the trend of anime EDs in general to be like a sedative to transition viewers to sleep as opposed to the OP which demands your attention and jolts everyone awake. I have to say that even the OP for the other series I started watching though, up to now kind of an underrated sleeper of the season - Yuukoku no Moriarty, is quite good and elicits the proper mood. The ED is terribly inappropriate though. Just to further break down how I feel about the songs (+ respective visual accompaniments) for each of my watched seasonals so far at this early point into the season: Hanyou no Yashahime: OP - Skip ED - Listen to every time Higurashi Gou: OP - Listen to every time ED - Listen to every time Majo no Tabitabi: OP - Listen to every time ED - Skip Yuukoku no Moriarty: OP - Listen to every time ED - Skip |

| I'm definitely not objective in my picks, but in both OP and ED Hypnosis Mic wins. The opening is a perfect mix between rap and a typical anime OP, and the ending is an ideal song to end watching the anime on, and so far both Ikebukuro and Yokohama versions were perfect. Other than that, Jujutsu Kaisen also has really good OP and ED. |
