Ajay a sakuga expert on all things Toei especially Dragonball anime stuff says this

I've mentioned it before, but show's schedule is literally two cours ahead of the current episode, so fingers crossed that buffer stays strong and we continue to get phenomenal quality. Weekly anime is always terrifying and things can go very wrong for a number of reasons. https://twitter.com/AnimeAjay/status/1314218714422743041

Under normal circumstances, it's also scary when big episodes can take up a lot of time to complete, and the planning for episodes afterwards don't account for that, eating up a lot of time. Can be hard to recover sometimes. https://twitter.com/AnimeAjay/status/1314232847457292288

damn that is great news Toei is improving but RIP Digimon 2020

this can rival Hunter X Hunter 2011 in animation quality consistency if they can maintain that completed episodes buffer number

the use of 3DCG for a lot of battle scenes can help that since 3D animation is use not because of cost cutting but for speeding up production right now in the anime industry they say

according to a sakuga expert a lot of the episodes of Digimon will be outsource from now on

I just feel bad for Digimon 2020 at this point. The in-house Toei episodes have been largely solid when it's not Yashima or Naoi soloing things, but they're rare, and the rest of the series is mediocre outsourced work to Studio Gallop. The first three eps were so nice :( Oh well. https://twitter.com/AnimeAjay/status/1312551265138868224
