If you like reading you can try the light novels it's based on. I don't think they're quite as good as the Anime, unfortunately. ![]() the progeny of a dropped colony |

There's also the manga adaptation. Does some of the same stories as the anime, but also plenty of others. Pretty neat ![]() |

Well that sucks, but I'll give it a shot any way since the 2017 anime and manga wasn't well received, the novels are my only choice. ![]() |

Absolutely. There are a handful of gems found in anime first broadcasted from 2000-2007. Sadly, most of the newcomers will jump right into either shounen or the seasonal ones. ![]() ☃ Real-time Shibuya Crossing “We want to get to know other worlds. Books can help you do that. I'd recommend Mushishi, Girl's Last Tour, Majo no Tabitabi (currently ongoing as of now), and xxxHolic, bro. They're some really good similar episodic multi-layered series, too. ![]() |

animejas said: It ages like fine wine for me. Went from a top 50 anime originally, to a top 20 anime, and now its my 3rd favorite anime. Original Kino's Journey is easily one of the best anime out there for me. Hell yeah bro, too bad the show isn't popular it deserves so much more love ! ![]() |

If you loved Kino's journey THAT much, you MUST watch Girls' Last Tour. It left me speechless as it was airing to be honest. The Kino's Journey 2017 reboot is also neat, but nothing even remotely close to the original in directing and atmosphere. EDIT: Ok since you already watched Shoujo Shuumatsu, I'd recommend Haibane Renmei next :) ![]() Modified by Nostalgik, Nov 13, 2020 4:34 AM |

i absolutely agree. Kino's Journey is a story about Kino wandering around to different places and experiencing different things or helping different people in various situations. the charm in it lies in observing and philosophically focusing on different aspects of the stories, since there's so much that goes untold and you can figure out for yourselves. it also shows that the world can be very brutal to us at times, but that there's always a glint of hope shining in the distance and that there's so much more to explore, that there's always some good hiding behind the bad, and that the world is indeed a fascinating place to discover more about. "The world is not beautiful; therefore it is." is a statement that has stayed with me for so long, and perfectly summaries the series in a whole. ![]() |
Yesss. I just finished watching it and I've been obsessed with it. I keep rewatching it and crying. There's just a quality about it that makes me feel like I'm in a dream. The good direction adds so much. Also I love the japanese voice acting where I can hear the actress' voice where she almost smacks her lips or it feels like too much spit has built up in her mouth. Sounds gross but her voice and acting is so perfect. ![]() |
Young are so freaking right, Kino is easily one of the greatest anime ever made, igual hace some nitpicks presentation-wise anda that's why I gave it a 9/10 ![]() |
