From dark fantasy to moe

The new studio Passione really outdid themselves they took a dark fantasy harem anime and turned it into a moe harem anime wow...
All characters now look bland and seem like they come straight from an idol show.
Also the previous seasons had a really serious note, but now everyone makes fun of Issei as the so called Opai-dragon
Meanwhile Rias lost all dignity and character development she steadily built up in the previous seasons.

An utter dissapointment.

They are digging their own grave but I am fine with that.
It's up to the original author who he sells the property rights t(and the investors) but if the show doesnt perform well their moneys lost and going back to TNK after burning the bridge is not an option.

Changing the tone to a more serious note was a really good idea imo, it resulted in an astounding success for the franchise as a whole.
I just wonder why you would want to change the studio after 4 seasons only to choose Passione as the new one who cant draw serious for shit (or walking animations). When you allready have a solid fanbase who is expecting a more serious show. You got to expect that 50% will disdain the new artstyle, also the change in behavior of characters. So why do that when there are plenty studios who are very good at hitting a serious jet comedic style?

Also everyone acts like its something inherently bad when an animation studio tweaks the source material and changes things a little but I dont think that is the case at all.
If people want the pure 100% interpretation like the author imagined it they should read his fucking book.
You dont expect a portrait of a painter to represent you 100%, if you want that take a photo. The artist always influces his work.
Thats what made the show so great and is now lost since they not only changed studios but also did a 180 with the artistic choice of representing the characters. Naturally pissing the already fans of and, with 3 previous seasons scaring off newcomers to the genre.

Yes they are digging their own graves as its now a moe artstyle show that is forgotte by the viewer within the hour after watching it.
The story isnt revolutionizing the characters have to make up for it but if you strip them of all their charm AND personalities its over.

Maybe TNK just wanted to finish the anime with that shitty kiss scene on the beach in Born, If so we wouldn't even get season 4 with them.

And if we ever get season 5, unfortunately that's probably going to be the last season... For two reasons.

1. VOL's 11-12 ends the arc.

2. The next VOLs are much more complex and long that 12 episodes won't be enough. They need a lot of money to adapt it properly

That's my bet as well TNK was goings to be done with dxd after born so they tried and failed to add and resolve plot threads. Heck last 3 episodes or so don't even matter as they both forget at the end anyway and makes there anime original content pointless at least season fixed that part and now they are actually together in the Anime
