| Mal should implement some type of community regulation. What is the point of this section in the forums if it's going to be absolutely ignored? let us upload the pictures we want for the characters and such, let the community vote for the best one and that gets selected. If a better picture shows up later then that gets voted up. Same with anything that can be added by MAL users. I uploaded a picture for a character and still hasn't showed up. They are quicker hanging banners asking for money. |

I genuinely have no idea why users are saying it's fanart, because I'm fairly certain that it's not. I'm not sure what was its original use was, but most sources seems to show that it's official art. Besides, fanart is not allowed according to the character database guidelines. Based on some research, it seems to originally be promotional art that was used to announce the release of the first volume. There's also a possibility that it used to be the banner art on Nico Nico Seiga. |
