| I would go with Gyakkyou Burai Kaiji. It already has a high score but what if it had a better animation or art ? Maybe that’s a reason that people get discouraged, the faces are too ugly. |

You complain about the faces being ugly when this is the main art-style of the show and what sets it apart to begin with. Right, not everyone will appreciate that. That’s why I say some people could get discouraged. Like when browsing this site for new anime to watch and find kaiji. Some would think “oh, this is rated above average. But look at the faces. Where are the cute girls? think I will pass”. |

| This is going to sound silly but I don’t care too much about animation in the sense of it being sakuga. Storyboarding and framing is way more important to me than animation. Your show can be 90% stills and I will still be captivated if the cinematography is good and interesting. Case in point: Gosenzo-sama Banbanzai. It frames itself as a stage play which means it can get away with mostly being still because the core idea is fascinating. It also makes those moments where the animation does ramp up even more impactful. |

| Pretty much every show in existence could benefit from better or more consistent animation. I think pretty much the only exception is Space Dandy, and even then there might be rough patches that I can't remember. Whether I would give a show a better score for better animation depends on the show. As long as the animation is at least passable, it basically has no effect on my scoring, but I guess Bokurano would get another point if it's robots didn't look so janky. I think mainly I would actually pick up and watch older anime if they had higher animation and art quality, but even then sound quality and voice acting is more of a problem for me than animation, so I'm undecided if I actually think it matters all that much. |

| Some of the more popular ones are already mentioned.. so i will just say one that really affect my enjoyment.. A3! Spring & Summer I played the game, and i know the story is really good. The anime pacing is pretty good too, so i know if you really overlook the animation, it's still good. But too bad the animation is... Like they focused on one pretty frame but decided to draw the rest sloppily.. lol XD I mean, the characters that should've look buff, ended up looks like a stick.. XD |

| Lmao one piece definitely, there's two major complaints when it comes to one piece in terms of the adaptation:- 1. Bad pacing 2. Bad animation till much later in the show (plus dated art in the beginning fifth of the series) I still love one piece, and people are entitled to their own opinion, they can hate it for all I care. But I believe once one piece ends, they should condense the episodes, cut the filler and remaster the art and animation and re-release the episodes, much more people who were put off by these factors will be attracted towards the show again. | Let's talk about a show that would have not nearly as good a score if it had worse animation: Demon Slayer. Also opm s2 is criminally underrated. It deserves much better than a 7.4 something rating, but people were too busy criticising the animation to try to find anything good about it. It's less episodic than the first season (which was a monster of the week fest) so there's an actual story going along the extent of the 12 episodes rather than just a Saitama Come Saitama Slap Saitama Go thing going on. We have great moments with characters like Metal Bat and Garou, as well. I get it, the animation is not what you expect of OPM, but solely animation became the reason for many people rating it very low, thus it's rating of 7.4 on mal rn. Shit like Mirai Nikki, Another, even f-ing Elfen Lied holy shi- is rated above this show just cuz people's animation expectations were disappointed. Maybe it's because I started with watching relatively older shows like the big 3 that I was used to mediocre animation and hence couldn't give half of the no. of shits others gave. |
