From what I read. Season 1 was adapted from chapters 1-25 and by like 2016 the author released chapters up to 45, and some OVAs were made so it'd make sense if they were waiting on more material the author just really slow on updating. So I'd hope for 2021 or early 2022 since Covid happened nothings for certain.

ive been seing some articles as if its been hinted at/confirmed that fall 2021 may be the time. Unsure though but seeing more articles on it not being cancelled

One episode consist of two chapter with two separate chapters 17 and 26 as OVA which I think they did it that way instead of 13 episode so they can get Lala in a bikini, so they need at least 24 chapters for 2nd season which they do. Volume 17 coming up
