| Don't you love when you see the protagonist, a really strong dude goes against an old man that we know nothing about and it always goes the way we think it should, the protagonist gets fucking annihilated. Old men are usually there to put wisdom to the young generation but their strength is nothing short of immeasurable and they're truly among the fiercest badasses which is always great. Old men in anime don't typically make my list of favorites. If I had to pick one old character that I like, I guess it would have to be Jiraiya from the Naruto series. He probably wouldn't be considered old by most people's standard, but he's old enough to where he could be considered a father figure for Naruto. Although I did find him funny because of his pervy antics, I liked him because of how much he had an impact on Naruto's life. He taught Naruto what it meant to be a ninja and gave him the wisdom and support he needed to go down the right path as a person. |

Can't forget the OG old men from Mars in Cowboy Bebop. They built that place! As much as anime might take the piss out of the elderly sometimes, they fucking respect them. |
