Serial Experiments Lain, I knew nothing about it, just heard the name from a friend on here and decided to check it out. It’s probably best to watch it that way.

Erased!! I picked it because it was the first twelve-episoder I found on hulu because I needed a short one and I'm watching now and it might be one of my favorites. An emotional roller coaster for sure!

Mine would be Hoozuki no Reitetsu or Hozuki's Coolheadedness. I knew nothing about the show, had never even heard of it before but liked the premise and visuals during the trailer, so decided to give it a go & was delightfully surprised.

I'm more picky about the stuff I watch now and I give a lot of thought about what I watch but before I was like that, probably Grisaia the Fruits. I don't know how or why I started it but it was wild as hell and I loved it. And Haikyuu, I liked it more than I expected

The good thing is that I usually have no clue what an anime is about, so you might say that in the majority of cases I go in blind. All I read is the premise and then I will just let the show do its magic. Often enough it works. I really had no idea what SnK was about when I started watching the show and I think that was actually for the best because I did not know what to expect. Some shows like "Made in Abyss" really surprised me. In the beginning, the show looked like an incredibly cute and upbeat fantasy show. I did NOT expect the huge amount of darkness, pain and horror that came as soon as they descended into the Abyss.

I suspected that Hyouge Mono is some ordinary historical anime with samurai setting, but it was way more funnier and entertaining show, what i never would have guessed. https://myanimelist.net/anime/9996/Hyouge_Mono

Woud that not be like every anime out there ?

I have no clue about the shows I start, if I know something about the show I'm starting it woud be what MaL is telling me.

The only shows out of the 2.5k I have watched where I know the story it woud be FGO and AL adpation that we had a few seasons back.

But then again, the AL adaption toke a curveball as it told a story about what happend before the commander joined.

I'm never reading review, I'm reading synopsis, never checking up a trailer or youtube video about the show before I'm starting it.
So I'm always going in blind as I picking a show based on the cover picture.
And I woud say I have enjoyed every show that I have rated a 5+

I'll add Ishuzoku Reviewers to my last answer. I didn't even knew what the anime was about, clicked it because the thumbnail had a beautiful art. And the outcome was great.

Kimetsu no Yaiba. I didn't know much about it besides that it belongs to shounen genre. I enjoyed it a lot, to the point of picking up the manga shortly after I completed watching the last episode of it.

Was expecting Sakura to be snobbish, rude and stuck up, but that couldn't of been farther from the truth.
