All they can do is tell you how amazing you are and validate every thing that comes out of your mouth. Makes sense that they eventually feel like they're just beating a dead horse and say that. I personally feel this is their polite was of saying: "your life's pretty fucking good and you don't have anything to really complain about, so get the fuck out of my office"

Real/good therapists do actual therapy to help like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. There's a lot of therapists who have no clue what they're doing though and either amount to giving out the occasional empty validation or weird psuedoscience bullshit. The ones that just listen to you talk about your life and then just send you home aren't really considered good in this day and age but that's how most are. And then because of insurance it makes it even harder finding a good one because most won't be on your insurance anyways.
