It's unfortunate because watching anime is something that you shouldn't have to be scared of sharing with others, but unfortunately if you're not careful, you could be socially isolated from where I am (US). I'm not speaking entirely for the case of the US, but just my particular experiences. |

| It's getting more and more mainstream here especially among younger people so I don't feel that intimidated about showing my interest in anime around here~ It might be a bit harder to find merch here despite living in Asia but at least being a fan doesn't have as much of a stigma compared to how it is in the West. Weebs might be a bit cringy if they're too obsessed with anime though, hm. |
