Imagine how many other fated meeting that he may have prevented from occuring; etc That can't be right, if they met during the day Hina sacrificed herself, the trains wouldn't have been running and the streets would have still been flooded with water. Shinkai seems to be trying to connect his movies and I really don't know why (the teacher from Garden of Words cameo'd in Kimi no Na Wa as Mitsuha's teacher as well). I've decided not to think about it because it just creates a messy and confusing timeline. |
| Mr. Shinkai writes good scripts, he just doesn't do crossovers well. Taki's still in HS in Weathering, check the collar of his shirt when the 'weather kids' show up at his gramma's place. the green stripe shows that's his Summer HS uniform. Mitsuha is a full-grown adult in Weathering. even if she's 3 years older than Taki that would make her, at most, 20-23 years old in Weathering. she wouldn't look that mature. Mitsuha's same clothes set the day and date of Weathering inside the runtime of Your Name? no. you're wrong. Japanese workers use upwards of 10 outfits (on average) in a sequence for 'work togs' if it is not a uniform wearing job. also, copy and pasting Mitsu's 'grown up' character design into Weathering from Your Name is just a shortcut for the movie production. why design a whole new look for her? it would confuse the fans and detract from her cameo. same thing with what Taki's wearing at his gramma's house. another proof that Mr. Shinkai can't write crossovers for crap? there are ZERO flooded Tokyo references in Your Name during Taki in Tokyo or Mitsu inside Taki scenes. |
