So, I've just finished the Monogatari series and I have absolutely loved it. It's become my second favourite franchise in anime and Koyomi Arararararagi has made it to #2 on my fave character list. I wanted to find out what other people's favourites were in the franchise:

Favourite Arc(s) - I'm gonna have to do a top 5, sorry
1. Mayoi Jiangshi & Shinobu Time (They seem like they're part of the same arc to me)

3. Ougi Formula, Sodachi Riddle & Sodachi Lost (once again, seem like they should go together as part of same story)

Senjougahara for best girl, but they are all so good.

Favourite arcs are Koyomi Vamp, Tsubasa tiger, and Hitagi End.

Mousou Express for fav OP.

Can’t really think of my least fav arc atm.

I doubt your least favourite arc will come from Owari or Owari S2. They're all great tbh.

I really like Tsubasa Tiger but yeah, I think other than that her arcs are among the weakest. The best part of Tsubasa Cat is the date episode between Senjougahara & Araragi imo.

Favourite girl- Kiss-shot-orion-heart-under-blade/ Araragi Karen/ Gaen toou

Best girl- Same as above minus Karen plus senjougahara

Favourite op- Renai circulation
Platinum disco
Actually I like kimi no shiranai monogatari the most out of all.

Favourite arc- this one is difficult. Don't remember all arc names but I'll just describe them:
Oikura sodachi both arcs. Both were great. I liked the one with her mom more.
Nadeko deity arc
Oshino ougi all arcs. especially the last one.
Kanbaru arc from hanamonogatari. But suruga monkey was also nice.
Man, this is too difficult, I liked almost every arc. Each was well done. So, these aren't in order nor is this a complete list.

Least favorite should be easier:
Nadeko snake definitely

Also extra stuff:
Best written characters (unique) :
Nadeko
Sodachi
Senjougahara
Kaiki
Ougi

These are top tiers. Next would have been shinobu and araragi but not quite as good.

Most interesting character:
Nadeko
Senjougahara

I don't quite understand them. Like, I get their point and can predict them but understanding them is a bit....

So, I decided to skip everything else, and just see episodes 21 - 26...

Initially, I only saw Bakemonogatari, and that was while it still first aired, and decided not to get involved with Monogatari anymore, due to strong harem elements.
Plus, it seemed to me that there will be very little of Meme, anyway, and I liked him more than Koyomi.

That being said, over the years I saw how everyone was mentioning Kaiki best girl, Kaiki is awesome, etc., plus recently I found out that he has over 8000 favorites on MAL, so it made curious, that I decided to check some scenes with him on YT, and they were interesting enough for me to really stark liking him, and thus just see that last arc in this season.
I also saw parts of episode 2 of Hanamonogatari because of him.
I suppose he is present even before Koimonogatari, but I just don't feel the need to see those previous scenes.

What can I say, he is really great character, his interactions are well written, and I wouldn't mind if the entire franchise had him as central MC.

It is difficult not to like that kind of a person.

Miki Shinichiro did an amazing job voicing him, btw.

I was already for years aware that Monogatari series is well written.
The things is, I am on a personal level really sensitive to harem (elements), and in my past experiences with those I was usually left feeling bad, or sick.

But then again, who knows, maybe one day I will actually see to it to actually restart series from the beginning, and see everything in order of release.
But I believe that will greatly depend on if I find out that Kaiki, or maybe rather Meme this time, have a big role in future, because as it is, I'm not really fan of Koyomi as MC.

Favorite Girl: Shinobu or Hachikuji
Favorite Arc: Mayoi Jiangshi and Shinobu Time as well
Favorite OP: Platinum Disco. Marshmallow Justice comes second, as PD just has everything you can really ask for plus it is a jam.
Least Favorite Arc: Honestly as of what I’ve watched, probably Nadeko Snake. Hitagi Crab would be a close 2nd.

to be fair, much of the stuff up until second season was boring for me. it's just that black made me put off the series for a while.
since it's been a minute since i've watched the series, it's worth a rewatch now chronologically, so my opinion may change

- Favourite Girl: Karen, maybe. I like Shinobu as a plot character but I hate the fact that she is a loli for the majority of the series.

- Favourite Arc(s): Kizumonogatari, by far. Then Koimonogatari.

- Favourite OP(s): The one for Koimonogatari.

- Bonus: Least Favourite Arc: everything after Bakemonogatari. As the series progresses it becomes far worse, to the point of being just fanservice trash with a pretentious (and non-sensical) sub plot.

The ultimate waifu & girl is Kaiki Deshuu.There is no alternative to it.

Mine favourite season being Monogatari series season 2 especially Nadeko Medusa.I don't know if you could call it as a redemption arc for Kaiki but it made me to like him even more.

Least favourite arc-Karen bee.I'm conflicted about it.Honestly it was a setup to introduce more characters.It was weak but it also introduced Kaiki.

Big mistake tbh. The OPs have a lot of subtle messages about the arc, on top of Monogatari OPs being a jam and well-thought out.

Fav Girl: Mayoi. I just love her relationship with Koyomi (don't get me wrong, I don't ship them). Suruga is a very close second.
Favourite Arc: Hitagi Crab
Favourite op: From Karen Bee arc (I have no idea what's the name of the op)
Least Favourite arc: every Nadeko arc.

I'm currently rewatching it since everybody enjoyed it a lot except for me.

Favorite Girl: Kiss-Shot/Shinobu followed closely by Hitagi and Mayoi

Favorite Arcs:
1. Tsukihi Phoenix
2. The Kizu Arc (Idk the name)
3. Hitagi End (not sure if that's the name but it's the last arc in the 2nd Season)

I'll probably add some more after I rewatch the whole thing.

Favorite OPs:
1. Platinum Disco
2. Kaerimichi (not sure again but the first Mayoi OP)
3. Futakotome (AGAIN not sure, but it's the 2nd Hitagi OP)
4. Perfect Slumbers
5. Sugar Sweet Nightmare (and of course not sure again, but the Bake OP of Tsubasa)

Least Favorite Arcs:
1. Tsubasa Family (hard to watch for me at least)
2. Nadeko Snake (it just doesn't have any charm to it plus I hate Nadeko, sorry Nadeko fans)

I haven't seen owarimonogatari but other than that

Favourite girl: Ononoku yotsugi
Favourite arc: hitagi end and kizumonogatari
Favourite OP: musou express(sengoku nadeko op3 from second season of monogagari series) perfect slumbers and ending of bakemonogatari is very good as well.
Least favourite arc: tsubasa family(lol we same on this one)
