These days I typically switch between the shows I am watching because I can’t seem to watch any shows for three or more episodes without getting bored.

I want to watch a show that will keep me hooked until completion.

Which shows have you binged because the quality of the show was just too high or the story was just too gripping?

Everything I've rated this high was binge watched. The only one that wasn't was vinland saga. I always binge watch shows I feel I will like but for some reason I can't remember I watched vinland saga when it was airing.

I kinda binged Monster though it took me like a few months to actually get through it. I just finished it like a few hours ago and gave it a 9.

I get what you mean! I somehow sometimes lose complete interest in a series, not even that it's bad but I watch 1-3 episodes and then I'm like "k byeee" without dropping it or so but just...meh. Could even be a good series I just don't feel like it atm.

I nowdays rarely binge a series tbh, always takes me ages to finish it.

I binged Chihayafuru s1 and s2 all in one go, same for fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood, ouran high school host club, kimi ni todoke and psycho pass.

Those are all the ones I rated a 9/10 and binged within a couple of days. Other ones took me some time to finish or I was mostly watching them weekly when they were airing.

However a lot I binged I rated 8/7 just because i didn't feel like giving them a 9 i guess
(like sailor moon, hataraku maou sama, etc)

kaguya-sama I actually enjoyed a lot and binged within one night after i got home from a party lol

A lot of the anime I have rated 9 or 10 I binge watched while others I have watched seasonal. If I don't watch seasonal anime then I will mostly binge watch apart from a few exceptions where it takes me months/years to finish the anime (Hunter x Hunter 2011, World Trigger being examples)

For 10:

His and Her Circumstances - Really liked seeing how the main couple progressed
Major S5 - Really enticing matches and the best season of Major
Hanasaku Iroha - Kept wanting to see how the romance played out so I was kinda disappointed with the semi-open ending
Gintama dot - Once the ShougunAss arc started I couldn't stop
Dororo - I guess technically I didn't binge since I watched it weekly but still watched it the moment the ep released

For 9:

Photokano - Binged the intro part just so I could see how the different routes were like, ended up seeing some cute af confessions and some nice romance
Kobato - ngl HanaKana's performance kept me binge watching this one
Tsuritama - Something about the really positive/happy atmosphere of the show kept me wanting to watch
Magi S2: Really funny + an amazing world/lore
Grisaia no Rakuen - best overall harem with a really entertaining story

these are only recent times binge watching, a lot of my early favourites I also usually binge watched

All of the 30 shows I've seen and reviewed up till' now ( ones which I've given 10/10 - check my profile reviews ). Uh, I guess you could say that my 10/10 binge streak is still not broken. I'm currently at my 30th and I'm still going strong. The last time I've given a score other than 10/10 was on Jan 25, 2020 and it was a 1/10.

this excludes the things I've dropped ( including the ones which I'm too lazy to even put as dropped ), ovas, specials, etc.

Having start and end dates there, all tidied up, on my list, kind of makes this question moot: anyone interested in it could check it. From what I've seen, out of my 3 10/10s (Mawaru Penguindrum, Rakugo S2 and 3-gatsu S2), all I've binge watched, if one considers the span of no more than 3 days binge watching; out of my 20 10/10s, only 8.

So, I don't relate to the notion that my 9s and 10s must be bingeable. A lot of my worse ratings were binged too, but it still didn't change my general assessment of it didn't change. On the other hand, I do consider it a major flaw if a suspense/thriller show takes me months to complete (looking at you, Monster) and I still haven't finished it, because keeping the audience hooked and thirsty for solving the mysteries should be one its main points. If it doesn't do that, it's not that interesting of a thriller to me, therefore I can't consider it a quasi-masterpiece.

There will just be a heavy overlap with my own favorites list, naturally. I have even binged several I ended up rating 8/10 and I'm sure even an occasional regular 'ol 7/10, but I won't include any of those which received those lower ratings from me and try to adhere to the letter of the thread inquiry.

Obviously I won't include films, because that's pretty much an automatic one sitting "binge" by definition.

For 10s:

Inuyasha
Koi Kaze
Haibane Renmei
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni & Kai
Kenpuu Denki Berserk
Serial Experiments Lain
Usagi Drop

For 9s:

Noragami
Shiki
Ergo Proxy
Beatless
Legend of the Galactic Heroes
Elfen Lied
Kiseijuu
Kaiba
Aishiteruze Baby
Akage no Anne
Hyouge Mono
Mahoutsukai no Yome
Gallery Fake
Petshop of Horrors (Difficult to know if that could even count, since the entire series is only four episodes...)
Angel Cop (Same as above; series duration is only a six episode OVA in the first place)

Generally I watch no more than 5 episodes a day for a series I'm heavily into and when between shows or watching a show I like more casually as little as 1-2 episodes a day or less (none on some days). The most I've actually ever watched in a day has been 13, when I was watching Inuyasha and Shiki (which for the latter was more than half the series' duration).

Can't remember them specifically, but Baccano! was the most recent 9/10 that I binged. I just couldn't bring myself to watch anything else, I just wanted more. Also that kind of storytelling is really difficult to keep track of when you take breaks in-between.

Also Ping Pong the Animation

I binge watched 99% anime in my completed list.

If I'm not hooked/can't find the hook in the first ep, I drop.

As far as ones that aren't already in your favorites are concerned, I found myself going through Spice & Wolf in about a day, despite it still not being an all-time favorite. There was just something there that I needed to see unfold.

Every show on my completed list that wasn't airing while I watched it or is One Piece I binged, so I've rated a lot of binged shows 9 or above the ones that have stuck with me the most are the Monogatari Series, Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works, and Boku no Hero Academia seasons 1-3.

The movie was a pile of shit. The anime was disappointing. Only like 3 parts were actually sad.

Monster and Yu Yu Hakusho. I watched all 112 episodes of YYH in a single week during August of last year. Then a month ago or so i did the same thing with Monster. To this day i heavily recommend those shows to anyone who's either new to anime or just need something to watch during quarantine.

The one I remember vividly right now is Death Note, watched in Nov 2018, binged the shit out of it in 1 day and half. It was a 9.5 for me, initially I gave it a 9/10 but recently I changed it into 10/10

The first season of Code Geass, Death Note and probably Yakushiji Ryoko no Kaiki Jikenbo and Detective Academy Q. DAQ, on multiple occasions. Most impressive binge was Inazuma Eleven where I finished the entire first series in 3 days.

I most recently binged beastars for a second time just cause I love this show so much and ended up giving it a 9 with the only thing stopping it from being a 10 is the fact that its incomplete, if season 2 maintains this quality I'm gonna give both a 10

Also the dub of beastars is actually amazing, when I rewatched it I watched the dub and enjoyed it even more

I honestly had a similar problem as you, I just had to kind of force myself to watch anime. Not in a bad way. I had to just get myself to stop getting so distracted. I binge everything, but most stuff I rated 10 I really enjoyed (otherwise I wouldn't have rated them like that)

however, most of what I watch was auto-updated on my mal list from my kitsu list- which with my kitsu list I set it to rate 1 - 4, so a 4 there could be an 8-10 for me.

looking at our shared anime- it doesn't seem like we have very similar tastes, but you are more than welcome to check out the stuff from my list
