Seriously Man, I had to force myself in completing this one. I decided to watch this one because of all the commotion Crunchyroll did but I must say I'm pretty much disappointed. Plus I don't really like the character of Kotoko, I think Kuro And Saki are a good match! ![]() |
I've always loved the mystery genre, even more so when the supernatural are involved so I enjoyed this. The Nanase arc dragged on a little too long and I would have liked to see more cases being solved though. But I appreciate the unique elements of this series; never quite seen a heroine like Kotoko. Normally clingy, jealous girls annoy me but it's always played for laughs with her so I was more amused than annoyed. xD And did anyone find it SUPER RARE that every character was at least 19 years old and up? Adults dealing with adult problems in a youkai show....how often does this happen? ![]() Modified by Chiibi, May 3, 2020 9:01 PM |
Those 3+ episodes they spent sitting in the car could have been condensed into 1. By the time she got to her last theory, I couldn't bring myself to care anymore, just wanted it to end. Thought this was a solid series until that point. Quite disappointed. ![]() |
Damn Kuro, that was a really smooth line there at the end Quite the dialogue heavy series, a lot of interesting conversations but also some that felt a bit too stretched and unnessary. The Nanase case felt a bit too long tbh considering we literally see Kuro getting the shit beaten out of him while Kotoko and Saki just sit in the car arguing with internet strangers for multiple episodes, which could have been reduce to fewer episodes imo. However I'm glad they didn't speedrun through the case as that would be worse than dragging it out. Overall pretty good anime in the way it feels pretty unique compared to other anime ![]() |
Its an okay series. Its interesting at the start but it dragged too much on the Steel Angel Nanase arc. I really don't find any of the characters likable, but they're okay. Not even dull. Kotoko maybe cute and smart, but her jealousy annoys me. 6/10 ![]() |
The end? Okay, idk if thats the truth. Since somehow the source material can not be done lately, so i guess this show right fotlr promoting that resource, eh? Overall, this is an interesting show with a unique story linking world of soul, monster, human, god, and so on, in one universe. Obviously not my best, but can not be my bad either. The reason was easy, love the Kotoko characteristic being a legal loli with so much cute scenes with Kurou in the end. Just it, besiding every lame aspect happened in the Queen of steel Nanase arcs previously. Sadly, with the nicest contributions aparts, their stories progression were poor, and i can say it so lack of power to control all the good moments. Their lacking keep continue until its very last. Fortunately, the end at my honest point, was an okay attempt, referring all of the problem finished, Rikka problem still going on, and Saki san feel was over. And ofc the happy ending with the relationship between Kotoko and Kurou. Whatever happen in the time skip, i can understand a little. With that reason, and with my respect of the nice sound track in the opening, once again, 8 scores out of 10 to the over all, must be enough to keep this show alive until its real finished in the resource material. Yet, maybe im too over rated on this. However, my minds are still clear. 'Very good' statement was more than highly acceptable, rather deny myself to not liking the heroine characterization and Saki san memorable scenes pointing. Thats all i can say. Moving out. ![]() Hide and seek is the best offline games on this fatamorgana-called-world-thing. Please comment nicely. I am newbie here. I'm level |
Did not expect this at all and I'm very pleased to say that almost after 8 years I actually found an anime that at least for me felt that it had a close resemblance to my most favourite anime being: Gosick. From setting to pacing, characters to plot, they all had a nice connection with each other, parts remained a mystery for the viewer to either make up themselves or might find out in a future sequel as there's enough room to continue the story but the viewer also gotten enough closure for it being this single season. Got to say that I really liked the cases and while it mostly focused on the latter part the introduction and development was kept into check without need of further information to make sure the viewer got the information they needed to tell the story they wanted. So yea you can really say I enjoyed this anime very much, and like Gosick would love to see a sequel as I am sure even that would be great to see! All in all it was a great watch and I really enjoyed marathoning this series! ![]() |
While this series starts out resembling Hyouka (quickly evolving to be more like Kamisama no Memochou and Gosick), the ending stretch (which is like 50% of the runtime) curiously introduces some Kaze no Stigma vibes of all things... which I can't say improved anything in this instance. While the central relationship is amusing the only real takeaway I have from the show as a whole is its somewhat uncommon stance regarding lies vs. truth: Mystery series generally concern themselves with revealing the truth, while this rather emphatically seeks to do the very opposite. Ultimately I'm not sure what audience this show was supposed to reach, as it slips and slides through all sorts of different genres and foci over the course of its 12 episodes; the only real constant is the fondness for expository/explanatory dialog. It's a 'godly strategist MC' show in 'moe detective/mystery' clothing that only gets to fully show off its protagonist's skill in the second-to-last episode. I can't even recommend it to fans of Death Note or UN-GO because of the moe romantic comedy aspects and fact the mind games show up so late.... Maybe fans of Kyoukai no Kanata? ![]() |
I didn't hate this anime but I didn't like it either. I don't mind heavy dialogue in an anime but when its overdone and unnecessary that's where the problem is, and that is what this anime did towards the end. At the beginning I had such high hope but as I kept on watching I became more and more disinterested. If there is another season hopeful it won't be too dialogue heavy and boring. ![]() |
The 4 solutions stuff... none of that would stick! If some rando on the internet thinks 2+2=3, it's basically impossible to change his mind even with undeniable arguments much less with a bunch of far-fetched assumptions... I don't mind heavy dialogue but a bit more action would be appreciated. That said I like the ideas and aesthetic of this show and would binge another season if there was one. ![]() |
It has a very strong start. I literally got hyped up after watching the first 2 episodes BUT after the rest, it' now only a meh for me. The problem of this anime is the pacing of the story. I like the super brainy problem solving mystery of it, but it turns out too much especially for eps 8-11. I just wish there's more to it other than pure mind playing. Also, they didn't make a full BG on Kotoko especially about on her parents. Well, the important thing thing is it's entertaining till the end. I'll give it an 8/10 rate. I heard there will be a 2nd season of this somewhere on 2021. I'll watch it when it comes out ^_^ ![]() |
I really love the show. Hoping for a sequel in the future. ![]() Signature removed. Please follow the signature rules, as defined in the Site & Forum Guidelines. |
