Wow well there goes all of my happiness for today. Kaoru and Morita have followed in the footsteps of their respective father figures. That feeling of inferiority. Of living in the shadow of someone who shines brightly in every waking moment of your life. Who lives free spiritedly and makes it all seem effortless while it takes every fiber in your being to muster up the courage to do something outside of your comfort zone. I've been down that road and admittedly those feelings haven't gone away entirely.

The one part that got me the most was when Morita ran back to protect Kaoru as they fled the store. Just so sweet. It shows he really cares about his brother and doesn't see himself as being better than Kaoru. The competition is a one way street and it makes you take what's there for granted.

Tatsuo was a bit more human than he himself expected. That doesn't make his betrayal any less dreadful, though. Nevertheless, I understand his point. Even though I don't want to accept it.

Kaoru also proved to be a rather interesting character.

Didn't expect Morita to have such a sad past. The flashback was great, one of the best episodes of the whole franchise.

Dat end, tho.

I'm praying for Hagu-chans safety :'(

Hagu don't play with glass.

So many things happened, I don't know how to start describing it.

Uncle Negishi past was really Sorrowful, I can relate to how he feels, and he was tricked in the end how fucked up is that, I just can't believe that.

Morita still shines like gold even though he took a big blow.
and that preview took to the roof man I hope everyone will be fine, tbh I don't care
much about Hagu, hopefully everyone will be fine.

Easily the best episode in the series. Kudos to the director and writers. The entire backstory of Morita and his dad, uncle, brother, and the company was presented so beautifully and realistically.

Unfortunately, it's sort of overshadowed by the ending, and that shot of Hagu's hair, broken glass, and blood. Oh boy.

Easily the great episode of the whole series for me, tatsuo is already one of my favorite characters even though he's just been introduced. Also that ending was insanely unexpected, Hagu-chan better be alright!

The back story of the Morita brothers, their family history, their obsession with money, takes up 98% of this episode. It is a good story, but in my mind not really related to the main plots of Honey and Clover.  No one else in the manga or anime gets this much attention to their origin or family history or backstory. We get a little of Hagu's history, and a little more of Rika's, which is also part of Shuuji's history. But why so much time devoted to Morita, his brother, his father? Is the author trying to make a statement about what motivates people, and why some are motivated by money? Or is this just the absence of an editor with the strength to tell the author to cut it from the story?

Yes. I don't care for this side story. And I especially don't care for the ending with the blood and broken glass. I've said before that Umino Chika is a sadist. I suppose most authors have a sadistic tendency regarding their characters. But as much as I LOVE Umino Chika, and I really adore her...  She seems to be especially sadistic towards her characters and sometimes her readers as well.
