What are your favorite dynamic in a couple/ship?

I put lgbt in "Forbidden love and taboo." considering it's still seen as such in general.

The things I listed are basically my favorite dynamic except the forbidden love one because I only like lgbt in there and I personally don't think it as something forbidden.
I love any combination of these.

- Childhood friends. They know each other all their life.
Example: Aomine x Momoi, Ed x Winry, Renji x Rukia

- Love/hate relationship. Back and forth banter, high tension.
Example: Oga x Hilda, Rock x Revy, Taiga x Ryuuji

- Deep/complicated relationship. Long and complex history, often complex feelings for each other.
Example: Jellal x Erza, Renji x Rukia, Inuyasha x Kikyo, Zeref x Mavis

- Passionate rivalry. Push each other to be stronger in many things.
Example: Melida x Kufa

- Absolute loyalty born from a special bond and earned trust.
Example: Ackerbond, Alucard x Integra

- Unconditional love. Dedicating one's life for the sake of their loved one's happiness even if it's unrequited.
Example: Subaru x Rem, Hak x Yona

- Master/servant relationship, commander/subordinate.
Example: Alucard x Integra, Roy Mustang x Hawkeye, Smoker x Tashigi

- Reason to live. They don't have anyone else to live for.
Example: Hei x Yin

Also some other things I love:
♥ Enemy to friends to lovers
♥ Friends to lovers
♥ Mutual pining
♥ Slow build/slow burn
♥ Childhood friend/best friend to lovers
♥ Childhood memories
♥ Shared trauma

Really though SLOW BURN is the best for me. The slower, the better, lol.

I mostly prefer innocent couples with no drama involved in their relationship.

But I also love some types that you described:
- Forbidden love. My most favorite here are obviously incest relationships, to be precise - siblings in love (not step- or half-siblings, but the ones that are truly related by blood). I totally condemn big age difference though (read - one of the siblings is a minor and the other is an adult) as this kind of relationships can't be truly consensual. Parent-child incest is gross though and I'll never support this.
I also like teacher/student relationships, but I like when the student is in love with their teacher, but the teacher doesn't make a move, because he/she is an adult and can control themselves. It's ok if they get together later in the story though, when the student will get older and will be able to actually consent. The only exceptions I allow are the ones described in Cardcaptor Sakura, I don't find them creepy at all (well, Terada-sensei crosses the line a bit tbh)

- Master/servant relationship and Unconditional love are in the same category for me. But I only like it when the guy is in the servant position or is the one who unconditionally loves a woman. The vice versa situation is gross imo and I don't like that and will never accept that

- Childhood friends. Wish there were more romances like this. I absolutely love couples who've been together since childhood. It's super romantic and sweet. Narumi and Hirotaka would be an excellent example, but I can't stand his disgusting perverted side (why the hell did the author even include this whole oppai thing. And the porn magazines too), so unfortunately this couple is out.

Absolute loyalty is pretty cool. Both parties trust and care for each other more than anything else.

Absolute loyalty always tugs at my heartstrings, but... weirdly I can't list any specific ones. At least for now.

Other than that, I like Teacher and Student relationships ever sine a real good H-manga did a great take on it. The main example for this one is The Teacher Can Not Tell Me Love, where the couple has a special relationship but not a "lover relationship" already; the student is basically a year away from graduating, but the teacher wants to wait for him to hit 20... but you can tell that won't last for long. At the very least, the two won't last beyond graduation.
"You know you've reached peak quality when a doujin is better than the actual source series." (Eg. To LOVE-Ru)

Just to list a couple of biases.
Likes: A good story, characters, writing, romance, a good plot twist or something that breaks expectations (In a good way), 'backstory' and justice.
Dislikes: Bad romance, too much fanservice, the harem genre, yuri, yaoi, and bad writing.

I like relationships where they start off knowing not much about each other but overtime learn to depend on each other. Childhood friends are always great but harder to work with in the long run

the 3rd bullet point, complicated relationships and complex stuff is what I like, it gives us nice introspection about the characters, the other stuff that op put in there were interesting too

Forbidden love,i feel like it´s pretty powerful seeing a romance endure despite it being marginalized by society.Mainly with lgbt, and interspecies romances.

It also like the enemy to friends to lovers one, mainly because i´m a sucker for villain redemption tropes, and the ones that have to do with love conquers all are no exception. It´s just great seeing a villain find a new purpose through someone else, wether it would be romantic or platonic.

I like forbidden love in other media (mostly books) because it means age gaps or warring families/species, etc. Not in anime though since here it mostly means incest.

For anime I'd choose love/hate eventually leading to unconditional love.

From this list.. Somewhere between deep/complicated relationship and special bond and earned trust.. But more leaning towards first, as bond is more special, I feel, if it involves getting through some doubts, insecurities, circumstances or other things as well.. Not only dere-dere stuff.. But that's for me personally.. I think it's more interesting and includes more of what you'd see in real life as well..
Also, I personally more enjoy or not relationships with taboo - by looking at other factors.. If I like them as a pair more, not all sisters x brothers are better or worse..

Some of these are not mutually exclusive though. I want both LGBT and love/hate. Or LGBT, absolute loyalty and master/servant. Or LGBT, osananajimi and reason to live. In all combinations LGBT is a must.

The ones that are able to have engaging and enjoyable conversations together, including taking jabs through banter (not physical abuse) at each other for fun without being dramatic or offended to the point they hold some kind of grudge.

i.e. Holo and Kraft, Koyomi and Hitagi, Mai and Sakuta

It's the fastest way for me to like couples that don't involve me liking the individual characters first (although if there is melodrama, that's the fastest way to kill the dynamic). Examples in which I like both characters before liking the dynamics between the two....i.e. Mustang and Riza, Okabe and Kurisu, Revy and Mr.Chang (ship)

I choose other. I like characters who have never met each other in their entire life, but begin to develop feelings for each other as a story progresses. Like Kimi ni Todoke, Golden Time, The Pet Girl of Sakurasou. Just the normal stuff I guess.

I just checked and Absolute Loyalty was a thing to vote for, but not all relationships have earned trust to make a stable relationship. I think.

Of I guess the ones listed I like childhood friends the most. I just enjoy relationships that have that long term connection. It means more I guess. For something not on the list I guess role reversal is something I enjoy as well.

I think I prefer the "forbidden love" minus the icky LGBT stuff...
Some sort of obstacle between them ending up together makes for all sorts of possible story developments and it's gratifying to see them struggle with the consequences and hopefully overcome them because their bond is just that strong.

Or they don't overcome anything and it ends in tragedy.

Either way it's more interesting than childhood friends.

How could I ever forget about this! My RR-loving friend, I send you my respects! Role reversal is blessed in every way. Unfortunately, I don't really see it that much in anime - Osake wa Fuufu ni Natte kara is the only one that comes to mind, but it's not really that deep into RR. Oh, and not to forget Madoka's parents, they are a sweet couple.

Yeah it's not that common most of the stuff I have seen in anime/manga is mostly limited to hentai and just random art. I would like to see more actual romance titles around it though. I have seen the first one which was pretty decent (for some reason I forgot I had watched that anime just added it to my MAL) and I will get around to Madoka at some point once I get more experience in the magical girl genre.

For passionate rivalry, you could say Melida x Kufa (Assassin's Pride) or maybe even Oono x Yaguchi (High Score Girl)

but for me, I'm either between wholesome/mature ones (which isn't even on the list btw lol) or back and forth teasing ones (which I guess is part of love/hate?).

For the former, you don't really see it too much in anime more so compared to manga like Risouteki Boyfriend, ReRe Hello, Domestic Girlfriend, Horimiya, Fetiple, Furare Girl, Mairimashita Senpai etc. Basically ones where it's not like one side is dragging their feet through the relationship, and their drama gets resolved in a way that creates very little misunderstandings (most of which get resolved right away) so that there's little unnecessary drama

For the latter, I don't mean like one sided beatdowns ala Karakai Jouzu Takagi-san, but more back and forth ala Kaguya-sama, Bunny Girl Senpai etc.

i like the mundane, rather simplistic real-life portrayals in movies and shows
at least they show what actual struggles are for actual people

A lot of the relationships portrayed in anime are heavily romanticized. Anime series do not aim to be realistic but rather aim for escapism where the viewers can see themselves in.

This is especially true for slice of life and romance series where the user is expected to be able to project him/herself into one of the characters.

Mine favourite dynamic being the enjoyable and witty banter between the couples where they take jabs at each other.I really love Araragi x Senjougahara and Sakuta x Mai.

I also love the forbidden love especially between teacher x student.Especially when it explores the relationship.I really loved Garden of Words. It loved the dynamic between Takao and Yukari(thou they are not a couple).Takao simply feel in love because Yukari was there to support and encourage him.But Yukari refuses the relationship because he's her student.

Didn't vote because I really can't decide, leaving aside the love/hate relationship and incest/teacher-student/interspecies I like all of them. Absolute loyalty, special bond and unconditional love are my favorite among them.

Li Ren x Kajika (Hanasakeru Seishounen) was about the only time I've seen childhood friends win (maybe there are more but I can't remember right now).

Megumi x Soga (Tenshi na Konamaiki) would be good example of rivals I like. Was really enjoyable to watch these two complete to be the man among men, specially Megu-chan.

And I must be completely out of my mind since all other options only kept reminding me of two characters whom I don't even ship romantically.

Not canon in anime.. Only happens in manga, and that's probably one of reasons, why it didn't get later adaptation..
Just saying, in case someone will want to watch Usagi Drop for that.. It doesn't happen in anime..

I don't think that's how being canon works. An incomplete adaptation doesn't de-canonize something. It's not like they cut it out, they just didn't get that far. Also I doubt that was the reason for not adapting it further, most anime never get a second season despite not having a grooming conclusion and Japan must have liked the manga otherwise it would have gotten cancelled earlier.

Even though I like complicated relationships where one or both party are indecisive about there feelings for one another because of its potential for drama, I just connect more with deep trust born from experience and bond that sometimes borders on a platonic level like with ryo x kaori or seiya x saori.

Don't have a favourite one, but I'll go with loyalty.

I'm not a fan of forbidden love and I find pairings based on rivalry (BNHA killed it for me), Love/Hate (it would be better if was either love or hate, and not a mix of the two), and childhood friendship (someone like that may as well be your sibling) unappealing.

I mean, I don't think it's forbidden at all lmao I ship gay ships all the time duh. I didn't want to lump it with the others too. But just trying to be normies for once and see how most of our society think of lgbt. Authors still addressed that issue and make the couple deal with their taboo relationship in society as one of the obstacle they had to face throughout their relationship. Considering that kind of obstacle only happen in forbidden love kind of relationship, so I lumped it in that category...

Yeah but it depends really.
I mean, I love it when the author addressed the forbidden love element in gay romance, as it makes it more realistic, especially if the setting took place in Japan.
Incest is kinda a hit and miss for me. The only real blood related incest I like is Lannicest from Game of Thrones. I don't think I ever liked any other real incest other than that. I take Shibacest (Tatsuya x Miyuki) as pseudo incest because they are not related.
OH, I love interspecies a lot and the hurdle they have to face, like Lawrence x Holo. I read a fanfic about them where Lawrence grew old while Holo stayed the same, they are together until Lawrence become old and dementia and eventually died. I cried. It's great.

EDIT:
Forgot to mention teacher x student. I'm not a fan of it, period.

EDIT2:
Oh no I forgot I kinda like Aizawa-sensei x Bakugou, but it's more crack than anything serious, so...
