| There's been a change a few days ago in the scoring algorithm to prevent votes from bots from mattering. Since very few people on MAL have seen this movie, it was possible for bots to boost it disproportionately, making the correction particularly visible. (The previous two movies were also affected, although less so.) Once the movie gets a wider release, its score should probably evolve again as more members score it. |
| Reading up admin comments a bit more, there was another aftereffect of the scoring algorithm change : it's now harder for anime/manga with few scores to reach very high (or very low) scores, regardless on whether there was any bot activity for them. Hence the downward corrections for a few movies that very few members have been able to see yet. |
