I think it sounds cooler and it is technically the real name of the series.

With the addition of the English names in the banner and the Future toggle between japanese and Englsih names, I think this could be done.

What do you think?

Why? Just because it sounds better?
I think most people just search for FMAB and not for Hagane no Renkinjutsushi. Why going through the trouble just for a cooler name

Yeah I would support that, I always found it weird that this show has the English name, while Shingekin no Kyojin uses the Japanese name.

It should stay FMAB as default, but they should give the users the option to change between the English names and the Japanese ones on the titles in the settings.

IIRC, They are already working on something like that.

It doesn't matter, both titles find the same anime in the search bar. No one searches for Koukaku Kidoutai or Sento Chihiro no Kamikakushi but thats the name they primarily use for Ghost in the Shell and Spirited Away, if all the titles are in japanese then it only makes sense for FMAs to be the same.

But i do agree with @Rider9530, they should give you the choice to choose between the titles like anilist does.

Not just SnK, every anime i've come across in the database has the Japanese title as its primary title, yet FMAB is the only one that doesn't.

This is only reserved for the anime that is capable of reaching #1 on MAL.

If I see the title changed to Hagane no Renkinjutsushi I'll be utterly confused by what it even is.

Almost all anime on this site have original Japanese titles so I think this anime's title should be changed to the original Japanese title too.

"Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Fullmetal Alchemist"

Also, 2003 FMA's title should be changed too.

Nope, nobody knows the japanese title for FMA. Bad idea.

FMAB's Japanese title has "Fullmetal Alchemist" in it so I don't think that would be a problem.

So the original title the author of the manga came up with is Hagane no Renkinjutsushi? i always thought it was the english title for some reason, or is it still the english one the main title?

No, it's way easier to remember Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood than Hagane no Renkinjutsushi, plus nearly all of us on MAL aren't Japanese, so why should we use the Japanese version instead of English?

Because nearly all of the anime on MAL has their Japanese titles, so why should we treat FMA different? Also remembering wouldn't be a problem since it's Japanese title is "Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST"

Probably so there is more consistency. Almost every anime uses the Japanese name as the primary name so it would make sense. Yes almost everyone knows it as FMAB but other anime have the primary name as the Japanese name when almost everyone knows it by the English name.

Back in what... 2002? when I started reading it online and later watched the first series fansub, saying Hagaren never led to understanding problems.
Just like "Saikano" for Saishû Heiki Kanôjo and so on...

I guess the oldheads will know in some cases, I'm personally a relatively new fan of FMA, didn't know about it until 2015? But all the friends that I talk with that are into anime probably haven't even heard the title Hagaren yet. I'll be sure to remember it though, nerd flex.

Well, as far as I'm concerned, this is basically the only anime not following the MAL protocol with names for whatever reason. "Because people are used to it" is no excuse for inconsistency, the name should be changed, this remake's current name is non-existent in Japan anyway.

Yes I think it's better to use Hagaren bcs most anime in MAL uses it's the original japanese title, so why is this anime the only exception?
