Welp, they turned up the violence and blood this episode. No wonder the ghost they're facing isn't just an ordinary entity.

Kinda interesting they used a black and white style art for the background storytelling. Lol, of course Kotoko would still tease Saki about her current love life. It's kinda crazy how deep this case got though.

Other than the way the wonky ass fighting was animated, things were pretty good.

Fools on the internet causing problems, creating literal monsters, because they're stupid, can't say that's a surprise.

Absolutely loved the episode! The fight was rather bloody and we also finally learned what exactly steel lady nanase is! Looking forward to see how they will deal with her and now that all 3 are together I can say that I just love the dynamic between them.

We learned a bit about Kurou and his family's past. His grandmother is messed up.

It will be interesting to see how they will overcome Steel Lady Nanase.

I prefer Saki tho, prob because lolis are just not my type. But the fact that she couldn't accept an immortal boyfriend just sounds a bit ridiculous.

I mean who wouldn't want a partner who won't be sick or hurt? You could save a fortune from your health insurance money.

Gosh five minutes re-explaining the dude's powers yet again.
Yay action! anyway neither I'm not so excited that the anime would be leaning more into immortal dude fighting with bad ghosts, but 12 minute scene of them sitting on the floor having a chat it's absolutely boring. In this case that he would be the only character who can fight, so our girl MC would be displaced like THAT nun and the thousands of irrelevant girls co-protagonists of those action rom-com novel adaptations which I also hate, yep this is a dilemma

Oh so that how Kuro become like that, he was part of the family of the Sakuragawa who has been doing testing of exotic meats like that of a Kudan and mermaid and he's the only successful test subject.........

So is that girl from the flashback , Saki?????

Next ep will be solving Nanase's murder....

I expected Kuro's backstory to be revealed gradually. I guess it was never meant to be some big reveal then.

So they really are dating? Now that's a surprise. I wonder how she forced him into it.

Kurou's family turned out to be super fucked up, and just how big is his extended family that they were able to do these "experiments" to find the one to bear the powers from eating those foods before they discovered Kurou?

Episode was quite packed with action both Nanase and Kurou respawned lmao it was a sight to see. Internet has done it once again, goddammit they've created a faceless big titty murderer who carries a freaking steel beam now!

Looking forward to next episode, wonder what they are going to replace the story with and how they are going to make it viral.

Pretty commonly used concept, which was more or less what I expected. Though with the internet existing, you'd think these kind of monsters would be everywhere, especially with things like SCP.

So according to this, in the world of this show things like Slenderman, the SCP's, Smiledog, Jeff the killer, Ben drowned, Sonic.exe and all the other creepypastas are real monsters that they might have to deal with. Sorry, Kuono and Kotko, our bad.

Pretty much how Slenderman came to be...holy shit. This series is so damn good. Also, poor Kuro...dude is such a chad but is in a sad situation. Monsters are scared of him, the girl he liked dumped him and still struggles with the grips of his reality, and the girl who likes him gets on his nerves all the time.
Don't believe the hype.

That wouldn't make snese if that was Saki as they only meet in high school.

After the credits, Iwanaga says that to fight Nanasa they need to think up a story that'll surpass an actual story of a spectre, so you shouldn't worry about it leaning into Kuro fighting ghost.

this was a good ep, really love all the kotoko facial expressions added to my "kotoko reaction pic" folder cus of this ep. Also based that they brought up Kuro's past and how he became what he is. But fr tho looking forward to seeing how the character dynamic between Saki and Kotoko is now that Kuro is fully in the picture now !

Nanase is a monster of imagination, a creation from the delusions and desires of humans. This really reminds me of Re:Creators and the creation of Altair! It's all the internet's fault!

So basically Kuro's abilities are explained again, but it was nice to actually see it in action again. How his head got restored the first time was nice, but I kinda wished we could see more of that restoration as most of it happened off-screen.

Great to see these 3 interact with each other. Kotoko's jealousy is nice to see!

Kuro flexing his skills against Steel Lady Nanase, and seemingly not backing down against her, while Saki's over-worryingly behaviour caused panic and Kotoko analyzing on the sides.

Having the flashback in monochrome makes the manga feeling amplify multifold in the anime, it's just that good. And understanding the tradition of eating Youkai meat and essentially living immortal lives, that how the cruel life is laid bare before Kuro.

The never-ending jealousy continues when the 3 gather together, but the main focus is always going to be Steel Lady Nanase, with Kotoko's smaller Youkai helping relay information. The main exposition that said monster is a "monster of the imagination" is actually quite relevant, but depends on the ones who have the full story and experienced it whole, rather than those who know and spread rumours about it.

To add things further, the case of the found wiki page is what people intended it to be, not just by appearance alone. The Internet breaks all contradiction!

Pretty good episode I'd say, this arc should be over by the next episode.

Man, this episode was as good as always. The last half of chapter 4 and the first half of chapter 5 were in this episode. Looks like the dialogue wars will finally begin next week.

Also, this was skipped in the anime, but from what I've read here, it looks like it's an important detail that was said in the manga. For those who were like "If I believe my waifu could be real here/if you believe in any story, then you can bring the characters to life!", that's wrong. In the manga, Kotoko said people already know that video games, movies, anime, etc. are all fiction from the start, and they'll stay in their minds as fiction. As long as people's imaginations don't lead them to think that they actually might exist, it won't happen.

Rumors, on the other hand, can either be real or fake without any confirmation. They have the power to make people think that they actually exist. This is why fictional characters can't be real, but these types of spectres can. She also mentioned the possibility that all Yokai and ghosts are all monsters from the imagination that came from stories centuries ago.

Yeahhhhh... no. The dialogue will take so long that even I can say the arc might close up with the final episode. It would have to remove so many details to let this arc end in the next episode or even the next 3 episodes.

Shame that Kuro got worn down into agreeing that shrimp is his girlfriend. She works much better as cheeky little sister type rather than actual romantic interest. Despite her fear Saki still seems like a better fit. As for the plot (the plot plot, not PLOT plot), it was rather predictable, so without messed up family backstory and head smashing there wouldn't be much in this art. Still, this show is probably more about character chemistry than story.

It felt like this episode ended in like 5 mins, remarkable for a show where "nothing happens" and it is mostly dialogue, hate self insert MC but I think Kuro wasn't insufferable like most of them are, I liked that little bit when he was all upset when he was told he is seen hideous to youkai haha, I hope there are more moments like that giving him an actual personality.

Kurou could have been more badass in the fight if he learned a martial art or something. But, i guess i was asking for too much.

Anyway, i guess the pieces have started to come together and this case is going to be over soon. I hope we get to see nanase's face or smth. It's poor of her to not have a face :(

More then a few people seem to be confused about this so this to be explained. Kuro is not that old, he's 24, his ancestor is the one that started the experiment and it was just continuously passed the generations until we get to Kuro and his grandma. Kuro was 11 I think when he ate the meat so it has only bee 12 years since he ate the meat. I guess people saw the more traditional cloths his family wore and thought he was alive before WWII or something.

We've already seen Nanase's face, in fact, she got a whole opening in the anime, she was the busty idol that they were talking about. We will see it a lot next episode.
