Yeah, I posted a bit more in-depth about that in the club. I guess the difficult thing will be how to judge legitimate accounts created just for voting for it. I also went through some of the comments of his channel and it cearly seems like quite a few people have created or already had extra accounts.

I think that this showcases a couple of problems. Firstly that influencers on the internet have way too much power when it comes to public manipulation, and secondly that sometimes shitposts aren’t something you can just pass off as a joke. Like even when you’re upvoting an anime and trying to protest about it stupidly being taken down by Funimation etc, it’s still not helping at all. Long term the only thing that will happen here is that the show will sadly lose a lot of credibility on this site. You will generate a chain reaction where soon all the fans of the big shows at the top will react to this by downvoting it instead and suddenly no matter what the devs try to implement solution-wise, the majority of the shows’ votes are effectively illegitimate, one way or the other, and you can’t really reverse it anymore

Again I don’t know what exactly the upcoming fix will do in terms of how it’s coded but considering all the variables in play, it is difficult to imagine no damage will come from this in the long run

My prediction, its gonna pass FMAB as the number 1 on the site, and then a bunch of Fmab fans will downvote it to keep its place at no.1 kinda like chihayafuru and attack on titan, so the series will have a bunch of 1 stars and 10 stars with barely any real scores, so its gonna balance it out

As of now I'm just here to watch the world burn and enjoy it, as I'm writing this it has a score of 8.81 which puts it between cowboy bebop and made in abyss, which is quite a neighborhood to be in

Some people just love to see the world burn and people get butthurt, and i'm one of them!

On a more serious note, i really don't see what's wrong about this action. MAL score is a joke anyway, and unlike in Chihayafuru 3 case, there is no harm in this.
Dramatically lowering the score might be detrimental to the amount of people picking up the series, increasing it, will only make it more popular. And i don't see anything wrong about it, especially since it's genuinely good comedy series.

Pretty much people are only doing this for the lulz, most of the raters don't even have MAL in the first place so it's obvious they only made an account for one show. You guys probably have to watch out because your account will be marked as "troll" when Luna does a sweep.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure this will also cause people to rate it 1/10 intentionally to bring it down. It just doesn't sit well with MAL.

it would be simpler if the possibility to vote is given only when a series is concluded and to make a separate category for the Currently Airing series.

i am legimetly curious by what you mean by credibility being lost and people who love this serie trying to downvote it. if the credibility point is an actual thing some people care about here i really have to ask why?

i don't really think everyone is doing this in protest to funimation's action (there isn't any demand) . at this point we are mostly just sending them a midle finger.

i also want to point out that you forgot about the classic saying: pubilcity is publicity no matter is it is bad. the show will only gain from this in my opinion.

Anyone with half a brain shouldn't take it seriously + weighted score will drop once this joke gets used up. I do hope that this doesn't become a frequent occurrence but I'm cool with this is particular case
